Opposed Grace last week in the first round after back-to-back wins and he missed the cut, so will do so again this week on a course on which he has no experience. Aiken finished 6th here last year and has been in decent form of late. He has a 9-4-0 h2h record against Grace outside South Africa, so even despite any double-win-handover, Grace should struggle to beat Aiken this week.

GFC had an unbelievable round of golf today: to shoot level-par on a windy day in the desert needed a lot of putts to be holed, so to shoot 66 was spectacular. That round gives him the sole possession of the lead, but given that he will have the pressure of leading from the front that will make tomorrow's round all the more difficult. The fact that he has done poorly when in this position previously will only add to the pressure: in the four previous times that he has held the 1st round lead, he has finished the 2nd round in 13th, 8th, 7th and 35th place. And with the wind forecast to be even stronger tomorrow, it should be a very long and tiring day for the Spaniard. Hansen also managed to finish the day in the top-10 despite playing in the more difficult afternoon conditions and looks to have the better temperament to deal with such difficult conditions.
