I have noticed that a pay-service that is posting picks in the consensus forum is doing quite well. Cajun-Sports.

But i know how everyone fells about pay-services, and for the most part everyone can not stand them. My question to them is this, if u r so successful on ur picks then why sell for money when u should bet them for money? But that is another discussion all together.

My question for everyone here is this, i noticed that they are doing well, but i saw that they only picked a side in the MNF game, Minn, which won and on their site they had givin out a total of MINN under, which also won. Now why wont they have picked the total in the consensus forum as well, yet only post it as a free play? Is the pick not as strong as they think it is and post it as a "free" one and not want to hurt their record at all in the forum, or is it one of the ol' safe guard ways of getting business.

i know of people doing the ol i have a guaranteed winner in the game this MNF so i will give it to ya for free, 100 respond , 50 get 1 side then 50 get the other. next week the winning 50 cruise back and then recieve the same guarantee, but this time it costs $100, yet if u lose they will give ur money back, "hey they r still up 25 bettors at $100, then repeat this week after week, until the run low on their pool.

At first i thopught this to be somewhat similair in the fact that it is hedged, i give u the under, which means Minn didnt shoot it out like u would think, and if they do shoot it out then they can cover the 2.5 easily. Now i know that alot will say that but they can still lose both sides and win both sides, both i think that the majority of people had the same logic, if Minn is to run up the score then they should cover if not then u have an under, i think alot played the bet as to what "MINN Team" would show up and then based their play off of that.

So in conculsion, i think that they hedged their play to get a winner somewhere. But i do have to give them props for having a great record so far, no one can disagree with that, all i am saying i just thought that it was odd that they posted a free pisk on the under yet didnt pick it in the forum, and i would like to know why?

For what it's worth, they picked both the Vikings and the Under in the Ultimate Handicapping Contest, which suggests to me they felt pretty strong about it. As far as the reason for not picking the under in MJ's consensus, who knows? Some services use monitors to track just their pay plays, just their free plays, or both. I don't think this was a case of "hedging" as means for deception.
