Anyone have information about the 3 minor league players the Mets got in return?

Any of them have a lot of potential?

The Mets, unloading another high-priced player, will receive Double-A infielder Victor Diaz, Double-A right-hander Joselo Diaz and Class A right-hander Kole Strayhorn. New York also sent cash to the Dodgers.

and some more....

and some more....

The Dodgers will send New York second baseman Victor Diaz, hitting .291 with 54 RBI in 86 games at Double-A Jacksonville; right-handed pitcher Joselo Diaz, 1-0 in only four games at Jacksonville after going 5-2 with a save and a 3.50 ERA in 15 games earlier this season for Class A Vero Beach; and right-handed pitcher Kole Strayhorn, who is 5-2 with a 2.93 ERA and nine saves at Single-A Vero Beach.

Thanks Dave

Hopefully a few of these guys will eventual make it to the big leagues. I think only 1 of the players they got in the Alomar deal has any real potential. At least they are building their pothetic farm system

The key player in the deal for the Mets was Victor Diaz, a two-time minor league batting champion.

"He's a guy that we've liked for a long time,'' Duquette said. "Our scouts really liked him. They highly recommended this kid. The kid can flat out hit. He projects to be an offensive second baseman.''

Hmmmm, Reyes and Diaz double play combo in the near future:shrug:

Just to echo Grizape, Victor Diaz is the key guy to the Mets in this deal. Dodgers used to have the best or one of the best farm systems in the game, but years of poor performances and poor trades have exhausted most of their top guys. Diaz has been a guy they have been touting though as someone who could maybe help the club next year.

The key is that they are getting rid of their overpayed players. Burnitz was bust last year, now he's starting to perform when the team is garbage. Alomar didn't perform very well, and Benitez has to go for anything that they can get. Even Glavine is a mistake, but what is funny is that this team won't be much worse with these young guys playing for them.

Griz - One thing in the Mets favor is the deals the Dodgers make.
90% of free agent aquisitions the get bust. Conversly the players they let go at some point become very good ballplayers.
Sounds like the next move for the Mets is getting rid of Benitez.
