This March we are going on a cruise out of Bayonne (New Jersey cruise port)

We are flying into Newark and going to stay in the financial district of NYC for two nights and take the subway around to see the sites before getting on the cruise ship.. We have been to NYC before but not flown into Newark.

So my question is the following for the forum....

We need transportation for the following....

1. EWR Airport to the financial district Hilton

2. Hilton to the cruise port on cruise day

3. Port back to EWR Airport when we disembark

I have looked into Uber and Lyft and also looked into Limos all ways

Taxi would seem expensive and havent really messed with Uber

So what would you suggest?

Any specific recommendations for Limos in NYC? I have seen reviews for some that are pretty crappy

Thanks for the input

Ask the hotel. They generally have a driving service that they recommend.

Uber is not the way to go in nyc imo... Unless you want a nice big car... Uber x which is the cheapest of the uber selections is more expansive than a taxi in nyc... Also Imo the uber drivers in New York suck. Awful experiences with uber in nyc. Taxi is the way too go. New York is about the only place I prefer a taxi other than uber unless you need a big car...

Taxi from WTC to port of Liberty is about $40 FYI. You can use ferry as well but i would advise cab especially if you've never been here before

Disagree completely. Uber is set rates and my experience going there at least once every 3 months with Customers it is the way to go. Granted, usually transporting 4-6 people which the Suburbans of Uber work great, and if stuck in traffic the rates don't keep cha-chinging like in the cab.

Zoomer advice is good with PATH, because NYC taxis cost more to come into NJ, and they are frowned upon doing it. Ubers are used to meeting at the North side of the WTC pools and taking you anywhere.

I just looked at the rate for uberx. 35 cents a minute and 1.75 per mile... Plus 2.55 base fare... they dropped the rates a bit I guess however that's still more than a taxi. And the uber drivers there aren't from there. There transplants looking for extra side money to pay for the shoebox they live in. They don't know the streets like taxis who have been there for years. If you don't want to sit in a taxi I think the next best bet is a car service uber suv is fine but it's expensive... The drivers who drive suv usually drive for a car service as well

Scrappy would probably drive you around for about $50 a day as long as you don't mind stopping to pick up bottle and cans along the way..........
