I made a both ways bet at bet365. Usually don't play this and this is probably the only bet there that does not show what you win if you win. Played Ames at +3300, 20 to win and 20 to place. They say they pay 5 places at 1/4 odds. Now I know they are not going to play 5 places at 1/4 odds so what is the deal ? I assume if Ames outright wins I will make 660 on the 20, but "lose" the place bet since I won the outright bet? If he ends up 2,3,4, or 5th, then I would be paid 165 (20 x 8.25) ? Is this right ? Thanks for any help.

If Ames wins you win both your bets.....
+660 win & +165 place = total +825

If Ames top 5 you win the place but lose the win.....
+165 place & -20 win = total +145

Thanks Trampled. usually I'm pretty good in math but when they say they are paying 5 people at 1/4 odds-it seems they are paying well over 100% return in comparison to the outright. After doing some calculating it seems to come out. In theory 5 places paying 165 each ends up to be 825 on a risk of 100 which is 8.25-1 or 1/4 of 33-1.
