I know the tried and true system of playing an unranked home favorite over a ranked road dog but I was watching the Bama-Miss St. game last night and I started thinking, doesn't this system really apply to anytime a home team is favored over a higher ranked road team? I mean, the commentators always talk about how when the lower ranked team wins it is an "upset" but I certainly don't consider that to be the case anymore. Just in the last week, there's been 4 of these that I can think of off the top of my head: Maryland over Duke, Kentucky over ND, Indiana over Illinois, and the aforementioned Miss St. over Bama. Has anybody else tracked this statistic either this year of historically?

Just to clarify, I'm talking about when you have a game where both teams are ranked but the home team has a worse ranking than the road team but is still favored. Don't think I made that clear enough in my original post.
