I have the Cubs parlayed with the Over in Reds game. Since the Reds game has already won all I need is the Cubbies for a good size payoff, should I let this ride or hedge with St.Louis? I would not even consider this but Morris is on the hill plus I have saw some good cappers on the cards. thought's anyone?

I am on the Cards. Morris has been good against the Cubs this year and Kulpa is umpiring and home dog's are 0-9 when he is umpiring. With the way things have been going for me lately though, this streak will probably end so the cubs may be the right pick. Good luck

personally I am on the Cubs. It all depends on the size of the payoff..and I would wait up until gametime to see where the Mline moves to...Personally I see a very low scoring game..and a series split 2-2, no way I see a Stl 3-1 series win in Wrigley. I just don't and the Cubs Line right now is +104.so It may move again

I'm with St. Louis on this one. The Cubs seem to have a hard time with St. Louis the past couple of years. And I think the pitching edge today is heavily in St. Louis' favor.

Morris (STL) is hot the past 3 with 1.07 ERA and a 2.57 ERA overall. Tavarez (CHI) Has an overall ERA more than double Morris for the year, and has an ERA of 5.72 against St. Louis. Tavarez had a good showing his last game but he's been shakey this year. Chicago is going to have to score at least 4-5 in order to win this game. And that's going to be a tough feat against Morris.

Haven't heard if the wind is going to be blowing out or not.

Thanks guy's for the reply's, My problem is a little less of a problem now then when I asked the question. See my parlay thread as I feel the hedge may not be needed. thanks once again.

Cubs/Cards is always a good series. Sorta like the Bears/Packers. But I think Vegas is getting burned too often with that UNDER day after day. So I think 7.5 is just a bit too low. Anyway, my POD is a 2 banger with DA CUBS & OVER....GLM

On the course!
I just don't understand this. I pose this question to you:

"Why did you even bother to bet the parlay?

I have seen more posts than I can count on this, and like I said.....I just don't understand it.

Why didn't you just make the first bet, and then decide if you wanted to double up on the Cubs game once the first one ended?

Then, you have people telling you that you should cover the bet to be "a sure winner". This is true....You would be a winner. But, taking that into mind, if you made one bet and won and quit EVERY DAY, you would be ahead of the game!

I say, if you want to bet a parlay, let it ride!

YYZ, I respect your thought's on this matter. But if you have been reading my daily post(s) you will see my goal is to play 4 parlays and hope for a split, I play most of these games on the overnight lines "for my own reasons" if I have a 2-teamer going with a early/late matchup - there are 2 things I think of after the first game wins or loses. If the play wins, I decide if I want to let it ride or hedge and if the first play lost, I decide if the play that got killed on the parlay is strong enough to be played again or just let it die. Most of these decisions are made by me, today the game in question was a tough play and I asked for some advise. I made the right decision and won. I do this for a living and take pride in what I do. But sometimes 2 or more heads are better than 1. FWIW most of the time I do let them ride, because the reason I play the parlays is for the big return without the juice. take care.

This never surprises me. This is why most people do not win against the books. If you make the parlay bet, let it ride. If you didnt want to parlay it you should have made just a single bet. When you hedge you are giving back a fraction of what you would have won if you just bet it straight. I'm by no means an expert...but im getting there. This is however something I learned awhile ago....

If you are going to parlay let it ride!

Hope you ignored my advice- LOL!

Didn't dig deep enough into my pitcher situation as I learned after the game was over that Morris has been having a bad time this year on the road, and his woes continued today.

Proof once again that a gambler should get all his research straight before he throws a wager.

And by the way, it wasn't a waste of my time. Good Luck with your parlays!

mickstr68, thanks ....

Jessy Lover, I put a post in your thread and hope it says what I meant to say all along. I play parlays in Baseball and 9 out of 10 I let ride, but a fool never changes and I'm no fool. Just wanted some advise, much like Fletcher on Saturday concerning game 2 of the Astros game. Been doing this too long to change - But I do listen and learn everyday. thanks again to the guy's that help out and make this a great site.
