What kind of learning curve is there when switching from a windows machine to a Mac? Our old desktop crashed and the wifey has wanted to get a Mac for a while. I know Apple just released a new version of the mac book pro so I thought now is the time to do it.
Thanks, fellas....:0008

I would say there's not too much of a learning curve. Macs are very simple to navigate through. They are also fairly intuitive. They will search for WIFI automatically and when you download things, they are usually easy to find. There isn't a lot of searching to do as is on the PC's. A lot less configuring. No drives to find this and that. Just one mostly depending on how you set it up.

A lot of devices are plug and play. Icons usually pop on your desktop. Half the fun of having one, is learning how to use it because it's got a user friendly interface.

Check the internet for tips and short cuts. There are places that will tell you some of the secrets to the type of OS you're using.

I'd also recommend downloading Firefox and maybe Google Chrome. They are better browsers than Safari, which is a Mac browser.

Good luck. You won't regret switching. No virus software and spyware and they are fast as lightning. If you have any questions, ask away. Be more than happy to help.

Long-time PC user here.

Just got an IPad2. It takes some getting used to but it's all good.

Next laptop or desktop will be a Mac, no question.

I have said it 100 times.....once ya go MAC you'll never go back.

Within a week you'll figure out everything, it really isn't that "big of a jump" to go to a MAC.

After 2 weeks you'll be "an expert with the MAC", as I said it really isn't that difficult to get used to a MAC.

The learning curve is UN-learning.

It will seem difficult because it is sooooo easy to use.

If that makes any sense.

Also the Mac you have now will be the one you have 10 years from now. PC's suck fucking ass and get bogged down and start moving slow.
