My record this year in handicapping the NFL is 35-15-1. I've been figuring my win percentage using 51 as the total number of games, which comes out to 68%.

Someone told me that I don't have use the "push" in my figuring which would allow me to use 50 as my total number of games, thus making my win percentage 70%.

Anyone know which is the correct way to do it?

my understanding is that you need to add 1 to both win and loss, making it

36 - 16

36/52

the tie counts as a .50.......35-15-1 is equivalent to 71-31 as a percentage.....but in handicapping, the push doesn't count at all since there is no $$ involved so i wouldn't worry about it.....

If you treat wagering records like W/L records like sports teams your winning percentage would be .696 or 69.6%
A tie is 1/2 a win and 1/2 a loss so your actual record would be 35.5 wins and 15.5 losses. 35.5 wins/51 total = .696

no point in counting the push ..

in the end all that matters is if u have more $$$ than u started with our less.

Hope whatevery % u got it turns out to be more $$$.

Don't count the push. To prove my point, 35-15-1 is the same as 35-15-2 or 35-15-100. The end result is the same. Only count wins and losses.
