Can anybody name *one* good thing that has happened to this country in the last 21 months?

Now, I realize that 8 years of relative peace abroad and great prosperity at home spoiled us a bit, but man, wtf is going on?

not in your country, but damn close north,anyways....

i was saying to myself the other day,

ie.....man, your losing money....losing your girl....losing your sanity...what next....is anything going to go right??

then i thought about it....and looked at the new friend i got a 65 pounder newf named "friday"(after) the series "the dragnet"

again, anyways, kosar....

i thought......

its been XXXX many of days before he pisses on my leg when he wants me too go for a walk and gets excited, i said to myself......man

life is good!!!!!!!!

no more pissing on my leg....

moral of the story....

the country is good as long as friends don't piss on your legs when your not looking.

side-moral......enjoy your friends and family....when times get tough.....go for a walk.

we gotta keep the faith yyz, gotta keep the faith.

the actions and senseless results have no meaning what-so-ever-man, but we have to keep on trusting our brothers and sisters and living our lives or they win.

like kosar says, hard to find the good in these times, hopefully little victories will beat the big battles.

The problems of the last 21 months are not Bush's faults.Since 9/11 the Bush administration has showed me a lot. I voted for Gore & am thankful that he did not become president. We finally got a president who has the balls to stand up to the other countries who have taken advantage of us for many years.. We have a president who is tired of all the bs of the UN, & all the bs from Iraq that the Clinton administration took(I voted for Clinton twice). We have a president who is finally calling Saddam out for ignoring the agreements that was signed after the Gulf War. 9/11 has changed the way the US should deal with terrorist thugs. Negotiation does not work with dictators & terrorists. They don't keep their word as witnessed by the recent actions of North Korea. They only understand one thing,& that is might.

IMO, we should be thankful that Bush & not Gore is president.I think that history will show that the way Bush is handling the war on terrorism, is the right way.

Ah brother Kosar who always has my utmost respect. Here is my top 10 off top of my head those some come under the adage "No news is good news" ;)

1 interest rates at all time low.
2 "Most" of country has been united:
ie more flag flyers than flag burners
3 Prayer seems to be more acceptable
4 Less national embarrassement
Don't have to read headlines every day of presidential indictments, sex scandals, lying under oath ect
5 haven't had any soilders drug thru streets and set on fire with no retaliation of late
6 No FBI "most wanted" pardoned of late.
7 Telecom and oil ventures with China and other 3rd world countries appear to be bringing in more revenue then selling them our technology.
8 No 1st lady scandals "yet"
9 "Bed and Breakfast Club" seems to be halted

AR- can't say I disagree about rather having Bush in there instead of Gore, so far. But I really question invading Iraq right now. A son's revenge? That's great, but is it the right thing to do right now? N.Korea apparently has nukes as well. Now what?

Well brother Dogs, it doesn't quite match IE's list, but not too bad. Seems like most of the 'positives' are addition by subtraction, though, lol .....not sure I agree with the first line of #4.

I have to laugh at those who are happy we have Bush instead of Gore because Bush will do something. Even after 9-11 Bush is not able to get the world behind him in this War on Terrorism. He blew it in Afaghanastan. We destroyed a country, put more thugs in power, and they won't even let us talk to the prisoners they are releasing. We have not captured any of the terrorists that we were after. They all escaped. We now get warnings that they are just as strong as they were before 9/11 and are planning new attacks. Yeah, Bush is doing a great job.

Thunderdoll don't blame Bush for all the troubles. He's just the president. We can't bame him for everything like we did Clinton. Clinton was just the president. I do wish We didn't have to lay off millions of workers since he got in to office. I do feal bad for all those folks. That tax rebait check we got. I hope everyone put it in a safe place. When they come to take it back they will want double. The fed's did a good job of droping some support for the states. Made the tax rebait look good. But it just fell back on the states. So now they are raseing taxes and cutting services. I guess there's no easy way. You can send your money to Washington. Or send it to your Home state. Either way you shall pay. But it just seems like it all went to hell in last 20 months. I guess I don't know where the buck stops anymore. No one seems to have enough balls to talk about the economy. We get up in the morning its Iraq. All day long it's Iraq. The only thing that has beat out Iraq is the killer the coward. Sad we need a killer to take headlines away from Iraq. We still just blink at Saudi. We will kiss Saudi ass for ever. Or as long as they send us 22% of our gasoline. So it looks like each president has there own can of worms. But Kosar you are right about one thing. Upto about 20 to 24 months ago things were some what calm. I'll take that with full employment anyday. But you have to work dam hard at that. As for Irag, Just a start, Is North Korea next?

I think its a good day everyday when i awake and thank god that i have a place to live, family and friends,my health. And that my mom is in peace with-out pain, also for each day i am sober.

Don't hate the world , hate what the world has become at times.

i have my good days and days that are not so good but i am alive and make it a point to do something nice each day for someone out here through aa or homeless each day. Not that i have to but because i want to. Yes the guy some of you call a mean and sick person helps others away from this site everyday for at least a few hours and i thank god i can do that and to me it brings serenity into my life. Do i still blow and get pissed yes but have become much better at controling it. Why because i am alive and not suffering the pains that many more then i have.

Many people have it better then me and many have it worse then me, but least i can take time to enjoy the beauty of the world with-out letting all the ulgyness take that away from me. Try it sometime you might be surprised just what a sound of a bird singing out side , the sound of a soft breeze or trickling stream can do to the soul. You can take yourself there everyday in your own mind and be at peace and harmony in your life and inner self.
