i would like to hear all you anti-war people's opinion who do NOT believe that you should be able to fire someone for being anti-war......

i for one think this firing is legitimate....i believe the station should have the freedom to fire someone for this....

i also think you should be able to fire/boycott someone who is anti-war...but i think there is a sentiment out there who does not think that we should be able to do that.....

Radio stations should BE ABLE TO fire someone. That doesn't mean they SHOULD fire someone.

If this station was running NPR news, and run from a university (read "probably liberal"), the station manager probably had to be concerned that the DJ was costing them listeners, hence listener support, hence $CASH$.

Still sounds like a bullshit call to me though. They let him express his opinion on non-controversial topics, but not on controversial topics. What the hell is THAT?

Good for him standing his ground and getting fired. I see he was more then trying to get fired for several reasons. Looks like since he mentioned Fox news he was sucking up to some one. Next stop. Fox news maybe, oldest trick in the book.
He has the right to do it in this country. But then not doing what his boss asked still can get you fired in this country. That would be for anykind of work. Now if he was the boss that would be differant. But he was not.

The truth is, if you read the story, the guy was fired for not reporting the news. He was not hired to give his opinions. It had been an ongoing problem with the guy. But don't worry he will fit right in with Fox.
