Decent start to the season, crappy last few days. That's why they play 162 games I guess. All the American League has been cancelled for today, so it is a light schedule.

Year to Date 27 -26

Season Bank + $643

Week #1 +$843

Week #2 -$200 (2-4)

Monday, April 7th
Atlanta vs. Florida
The Braves were embarrassed Saturday night and returned the favor to the Marlins on Sunday. Pavano didn't pitch well in his opening loss at home to the Phillies and Wolf. Ortiz didn't get the win against the Expos in his first start, but lost a game which he did pitch at least average. I still think the Braves aren't as bad as their record, although I do believe their run of postseason appearances will end this year.
PAVANO is 1-1 when starting against ATLANTA with an ERA of 5.79 and a WHIP of 1.329.
ORTIZ is 3-2 when starting against FLORIDA with an ERA of 2.54 and a WHIP of 1.107.
Not going over my mendoza line of -160, so I'll take my chances with the moneyline as the braves bats did look better yesterday.

Recommended Play BRAVES -1.5 +100

Expos vs. Cubs
The Cubs had renewed hope this year with the addition of Baker, and a young and talented pitching staff. Baker obviously wants to impress the hometown crowd for the opener, but it isn't going to be easy. I like Matt Clement alot, but he didn't look good in his first start against the Mets. Zach Day on the other hand looked great against the Braves. This would be typical Cub fashion to lose their opener. The weather will be cold, and Clement hasn't done well in cold weather in the past. I like the fact that Day hasn't been seen by the Cubs before, and Clements track record against the Expos is brutal.
CLEMENT is 1-4 when starting against MONTREAL with an ERA of 4.75 and a WHIP of 1.584.

Recommended Play Expos +130

San Francisco vs. San Diego
Padres gave away a game yesterday, and the Giants kept on ticking against the "powerhouse" Brewers. I don't see anything being different in this game than it was last week when Schmidt beat the Padres. I've looked at the matchups in this game, and NOTHING favors San Diego. Home opener for the Giants, pumped up fans, playing well, Schmidt on the mound. BUT since I rarely play over the mendoza line of -160, I will have to play the run line.
PEREZ is 0-2 when starting against SAN FRANCISCO with an ERA of 5.40 and a WHIP of 1.650
SCHMIDT is 6-2 when starting against SAN DIEGO with an ERA of 3.34 and a WHIP of 1.214.

Recommended Play Giants -1.5 -115

Dodgers vs. DBacks
I am going to break my mendoza rule on this game, by a few points. Home openers are tremendous pressure on players and this generally causes the team to play tight and not as well as during mid-season. They want to get off on the right foot at home and impress a capacity crowd. But, Kevin Brown is a veteran, and when healthy is directly below Schilling, Pedro, and the Unit. Kevin Brown is a money pitcher, and pressure wont bother him. This matchup was played last week, and Kevin Brown dominated Dessens and the entire Arizona team. He showed no signs of injury and had "nasty" stuff.
DESSENS is 1-1 when starting against LOS ANGELES with an ERA of 4.64 and a WHIP of 1.219.
BROWN is 4-1 when starting against ARIZONA with an ERA of 1.96 and a WHIP of 0.989
I will not play a dodger run line because of their lack of offense, but I will bite at the moneyline. Also, although saveless, Gagne has looked aswesome all year.

Recommended Play Dodgers -168

Brew Crew vs. Pitt
Pittsburghs offense has been amazing this year(compared to general expectations), and the Brewers are battling the Tigers for worst team in the history of baseball. Brewers are just pathetic and offensively are a disgrace to baseball. Richie Sexon is the ONLY player that team has and other pitchers can avoid him whenever they want. Their lineup features the talented Keith Ginter, Jeffrey Hammonds, Wes Helms, Eric Young, and Royce Clayton. None of these players could have a bench role on the Yankees. NOT ONE OF THEM. And this is their starting lineup. Good luck. Hey BUD SELIG WAKE UP, stop worrying about Pete Rose (of course he should be in the Hall) and worry about your team. Anyway, the new look Pirates should dominate this team tomorrow, and it matches up well for the Pirates.
RUSCH is 0-6 when starting against PITTSBURGH with an ERA of 6.25 and a WHIP of 1.633
WELLS is 4-1 when starting against MILWAUKEE with an ERA of 3.35 and a WHIP of 1.275

DOUBLE PLAY
Recommended Play Pittsburgh -1.5 +120:D

Pending Plays for Monday

1)Braves -1.5 +100 100/100 (W) +100
2)Expos +130 100/130 SNOWED OUT
3)Giants -1.5 -115 115/100 (W) +100
4)Dodgers -168 168/100 (L) -168
5)Pittsburgh 1.5+120 200/240 RAIN OUT

Good luck to all

That Dodger game was a sick one to watch. Congrats to you Zona bettors, had a nice price. The Dodgers have great starting pitching. THATS IT. No bats and no middle relief NONE. Gagne can close, but it won't get to him that often with that middle relief.

Anyway, updated record
