Raptors get Rose

The deal is final, apparently will be announced on Monday but ESPN.com is showing that the Raptors get J. Rose, Donyell Marshall, and Lonny Baxter for Jerome Williams, Antonio Davis, and Chris Jeffries.

Looks pretty good for the Raptors.

Davis didn't appear too interested in playing for Toronto anymore. However, they did deal away the two guys who get about 2/3 of their rebounds.

Raps were in dire need of a dominant big man (aren't most teams?), and I don't think Donyell Marshall exactly addresses that need. Who knows how they are going to defend against a big center. Raps should be smaller and quicker now.

Looks like Toronto is going to be counting on even more from Chris Bosh now too. He's looked good.

Will be a different team for sure.

this deal works for team well in opinion, but like what paxson has done a little more. he's put chandler and curry on notice and got rid of a malcontent (rose)!
raptors only see ming and shaq a few times a year, mutumbo is past his prime so this won't affect them as much as help them. they needed scoring and they definitely addressed it with rose and marshall!

Overall I think its a good move for the Raptors. I dont know Chicago will do with these players but Im sure they had reasons to get rid of Rose. .. Antonion Davis has family in Chicago so i'm sure hes happy about that. He's past his prime and old for a BBall player so its good they dumped him and his $$$$ contract. The lose of JYD is nothing too big besides his intencity and public relations attitude. Pretty sad to lose a character figure like JYD but I would take skill over a bark anytime.. Toronto will miss him JYD.

Lets hope the Raptors can learn to get better with these new guys. J Rose bugs me a bit because of his attitude. I dont know how he will pan out but as a player is alright. Overall, Raptors and Bulls wont make the playoffs but I think Raptors needed the scoring touch...

Makes you wonder if Jalen Rose isn't a dickhead in the clubhouse? He sure gets traded a lot. I was glad when the Pacers dumped him. My opinion of Jalen is he never met a shot that he didn't like.:nono: When in doubt shoot.
