1-0 YTD

Won my first and only posted play last week with the Bears, and I like this one just as much.

Normally I'm not a fan of laying points on the road, especially double digits. But I think this is a pretty unique case. When the Ravens and the Panthers step on the field today, quite simply one of them will be an NFL team and one of them will not be. Panthers are down to their 4th string RB (Mike Goodson, who did perform admirably last weekend but still) and are starting a QB (Brian St. Pierre) who has never started a game in the NFL and was just signed 9 days ago. If all that wasn't bad enough, the Panthers are missing two of their starting O lineman (Wharton and Otah). It's just real hard to see the Panthers getting anything going on the offensive side of the ball today.

Other than the 1 game the Panthers won at home (23-20 over the 49ers) they've lost by 13, 13, 17, and 31. I think it's a bit too much of a stretch to think that they make an improvement under the circumstances against a Ravens team with extra rest coming off a tough road loss against the Falcons.

Played Ravens -11.5 yesterday but all I'm seeing are 12.5 now. Shouldn't matter. This one should be won by at least 2 TDs.

GL to all!

Couple more . . .

Couple more . . .

Jets/Texans Over 46 - Scares me that the Jets O has been so inconsistent but the horrid Texans pass D should be just the tonic they need to put up some points. Jets D is still solid but is not the juggernaut it was last year. I'm thinking 28-24 sounds about right for this one.

Vikings +3 - As much of a mess as the Vikings are, they're still 3-1 at home this season and you know Favre will be pumped about his (potentially) final game against his ex-team. As a Bears fan I follow the NFC North quite closely and most years the games between the Packers, Bears, and Vikings teams win on their home field and lose on the road (and of course they all win both their games against the Lions). Even if the Vikes lose it should be close.

Redskins +7 - This is a system play more than anything. Except for the very worst teams, most times when an NFL team gets embarrassed one week they rebound the next. Biggest problem I have here is trying to figure out the Titans. At home they've beaten the Eagles handily and also lost to the Broncos. On the road they've beaten the Giants and Jags and then lost to the Chargers and Dolphins. Really don't know who's going to win this game, but one way or the other I think it will be close, so I'll take the 7.

As expected, the Panthers can't muster much offensively but I'll feel a lot better if the Ravens can punch another one in the end zone. As of now I'm just one big run (which Goodson't already done once today) or a pick 6 away from being f'd.

Vikings are all kinds of bad. Lesson learned.

Titans/Skins coming down to the wire, which is good for the points.

Need a late score in the Jets game and either a TO or 4th down stop in Panthers territory to salvage this day.
