Am I missing something here? I know about the home team record 13-1, but Hampton only laying -115? Especially when he has been rather successful vs. SF. Just noticed that both his starts at SF last yr were losses:
1)5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 ER
2)5.1 IP 6 H, 5 ER (anybody see a trend?)
Livan pitched well agains them at home last yr, but has been rocked every home start this yr- 1-3, 7.20 ERA
Looks like the over may be the play here.
Any input/ advice is much appreciated.

For what it's worth, I like the rockies -125.
If you see the line come down towards gametime, a play might be on SanFran +1.5 runs.

The Giants are the best hitting team vs. lefties in the league right now. The Rockies are the best hitting team vs. righties (although the numbers are skewed a bit because of Coors).

I would say take the over 8.5

Livan Hernandez has been struggling, allowing 17 runs in his last 18 innings. Hernandez went 1-1 against Colorado last season with a 5.75 ERA.

Mike Hampton owns a 9-0 career mark against San Francisco in the regular season with a 3.09 ERA. I would be looking to play Colorado in this game except for the fact that the Giants have won 13 straight home games against the Rockies and are 7-0 at Pacific Bell Park. Also, Hampton allowed five runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings as a member of the New York Mets and suffered a loss at Pacific Bell Park in Game One of a National League Division Series.

I think TexasBC6 has it figured out. I'm going to join him on the over and pull for Barry Bonds to continue with his hot bat (hopefully with men on base).

Bottom of the eigth . . . bases loaded with Giants . . . 7 runs scored total so far . . . we need a hit to put this over.

Holding my breath . . .

Dangit . . . bases jammed with no outs and then the 5, 6, and 7 hitters all get outs.

Well, there is still the ninth.
