THE NEW SCHOOL PRAYER

This was written by a teen in Baghdad, Arizona.

This is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a
freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken
aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must
meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses,
tongues and cheeks. they've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote
the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such
"judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, vampires
and totem poles. But the Ten Commandments are not allowed, No word of
God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

It is scary two ways for me. One because there are some truths in it. Two because the author of this type of thinking. They become the ones that take a gun and shoot someone. They believe they have good reason to do so.
Check some of the chit guys like Mc Veigh say. Heck I understand some of the poems out of South Carolina are about fighting another civil war.

This poem didn't go unnoticed.

I read it several days ago and gave it some thought.

Peer pressure?
No value system?
Lack of leadership?
No parental guidance?
Poverty?

Believe me, I do not pretend to have all, some or any of the answers.

I'm married, in my mid 50's, trying to raise a 13 year old daughter and doing this in today's world is a helluva lot harder than pickin' six in a row.

When someone said, "I'd rather be lucky than good", I hope they intended that to include areas other than sports.

Let all the kids parents not go on the attack
When little Johnny the Atheist takes a crack

He worships the Devil, strange but true
But he gets a say, using logic like you

Along with the Muslims, Islamics and Jews
Little Johnny doesn't think the same way as you

But he worships something, like you and me
Prayer can't be limited to one doctrine, you see

So sure, let's have everyone pray their own way
But the prayer in school advocates wouldn't let this last for a day

So then we would be back to square one
nobody pushing their beliefs, that's much more fun
