Interesting question Jack. I would sacrifice 10 mill to go back to age 6...but those who do so only to think they can increase the 10 mill are optimistic/ delusional as only 9% will retire with 1 mill and less than 1% with 10. If looking at age relevance I'd go red...if looking net worth at retirement I'd opt for blue.

It says, "with all the knowledge you have now". That's probably why you got confused.

I'd take the blue one because I don't want to lose the kids and grandkids. It would be impossible to create them again. $10 million is still a nice chunk to get them started in something that would last a lifetime. Plus, I really don't want to go through everything all over again even though it would be different. Do you really want to live another 60-70 years in this world? I don't know.

Great points Jack...especially living in next generation here. You and I have lived in the best of times. As per Clint Eastwood movie...This is "no country for old men".

The initial question "red or blue" is obtuse as it leaves out age you would have to decide which is very relevant to option one would choose.
Most that would opt for red expecting better result would be doomed to same options and fate they have since prior age of 6.
Those opting for red for sole purpose of extending for just life line would be in the catbird seed.
The blue option would be lucrative to those younger.....but as with pro athletes and lotteries winners...many would be broke in a few years.

IMO a leopard can't change their spots. Those here that are 65 and over would be in similar shape as they are now after taking the 10 mil at age 25 or less.
People will revert back their genetic or pre determined attitudes and family values with a few exceptions that rise above.... thankfully.

On the flip side... there are those that would opt for age 6 with their current assets .....not needing the10 mil...as they have reached their goals on their own values and principles.

Bottom line Its about attitude and family values
