The Texas Rangers will try to cool the sizzling Red Sox tonight when they play the second of a three-game set.

Boston won Game 1 Tuesday as Pedro Martinez gave up just three hits and one earned run. Their 'closers by committee' did their best to blow his 5-1 lead though before holding on for a 5-4 won. The Red Sox have now won eight of their last nine to be second-placed at 14-6 record in the AL East. Texas are 8-12 overall to be fourth placed in the AL West.

Once again it is the total that we believe offers value tonight.....
* These teams are a combined 25-13 Over this season.
* The Red Sox have scored an average of 5.7 runs thru their last ten games
* Ten of Boston's eleven road games this season have gone Over.
* Boston starter Tim Wakefield is 2-6 lifetime at The Ball Park in Arlington with an ERA of 6.00
* Texas has lost each of John Thomson's four starts this season....he is 0-2 with a 5.57 ERA
* The Over is 9-2-1 in the last 12 meetings
* The eight times these teams have met in Texas since 2001 have resulted in totals of 9, 14, 14, 13, 26, 9, 15 and 11 runs...an average of almost 14 runs per game

While this total is set relatively high we still think it is undervalued and once again expect these teams to combine for 12-14 runs.

Recommended Play: OVER 10.5 -135

Weather

The way these 2 teams hit and pitch it should go over, but be careful the air is very muggy, humid, and heavy here. Storms expected.

Just FYI.
