The Milwaukee Brewers tonight look to extend Cincinnati's eight-game losing streak when they open a three-game set against the Reds at Miller Park.

The Brewers split a four-game series against Pittsburgh and are now 37-53 (.411) overall this season.

Ben Sheets (7-6, 4.08 ERA) toes the rubber for Milwaukee and in his last start allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings against the Rockies. He struck out six and walked just one in the 3-1 victory which snapped a five-start winless stretch. In seven career starts against the Reds he is 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA, including a victory against them earlier this season when he allowed two earned runs through six innings.

Milwaukee's rookie CF Podsednik has reached safely in 40 consecutive games which breaks Barry Bonds mark as the longest such streak in the majors this season.

The Reds are in a season-high slump and have scored two runs or less in six of their last eight games. They are coming off of a four-game series against the Astros in which they were outscored 36-8. Cincinnati have the dubious double distinction of owning the NL's worst ERA at 5.55 and committing more errors (86) than any other major league team.

Canadian right-hander Ryan Dempster (2-6, 6.95 ERA) is winless in his last five starts and in his last two has been pounded for 16 hits and 13 runs in just eight innings. He is 3-1 with a 3.20 ERA in seven career games against the Brewers but in two starts this season his record against them is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA. On just three days rest we can't see him beating the Brewers ace tonight.

It's rare for us to recommend the Brew-crew laying any juice but tonight we feel this match-up warrants it.
