Sort of now....;)

The party in Iowa city raged long into the night Saturday, that's for should.
Streets and bars packed with fans partying and going nuts.
Took us almost an hour to just get to my buddy's house in eastern Iowa city where we left the cars and walked back downtown to join the madness.
Been quite a while since Iowa city had been that crazy after a Iowa win....:toast:

Let down this week? I hope not. The Johnson kid was an animal on def. I always worry that Kirk can not get his kids fired up for any game?

Iowa will find a way to get the win Saturday but that's only because Illinois is really bad.
Iowa is still terrible but never discount emotion and the home field in the college game.
Which of course I did when losing a big bet on Michigan - the points....

Man, do I miss those game days in Ia City. :toast:

Red, I took it on the chin also with Mich- points. I agree with Hawk that Kirk isn't a real motivational coach. He knows his stuff but is more of of CEO minding the corporation. I think the assistants are responsible for the "fire up" attitude. That intensity and passion was really apparent Saturday night. I haven't seen it since the Iowa State game. They will need it again when they face Nebraska. .. Otherwise, the taxpayer bowl

And, I still say OC Davis is a joke. :0corn

Davis is a total joke, but he's there because Ferentz needs a yes guy to run his joke of a 70s offense.
Not saying Davis isn't clueless, too, but Iowa runs the same bullshit now they did under Kenny O'keefe. Coincidence? I think not.
I've been to most of the original big ten stadiums and to Lincoln, Nebraska, since they've joined the conference and outside of Ohio State nothing compares to game day in Iowa City. There are some great fans at all the schools but the atmosphere just isn't the same. Granted, Iowa is the only game in the state with no pro teams, but Ohio has a lot of pro teams and the Buckeye fans know what's up.
When I retire I want to buy a motorhome and visit as many of the SEC schools for games as I hear them folks know how to tailgate like us Iowa fans....:toast:
