In 40 days it will be spring, Bob! :mj07:
Went to Montego Bay. An all inclusive family friendly resort with its own private cove and a huge water park next door at its sister resort.
90 every day, only rain fell at dinner the night before we left. Caught a couple of nice Mahi Mahi the day we went deep sea fishing.
Kids had a blast, too, so I?m thinking we will do a beach vacation again soon.
Going to Tanzania for 10 days in October so it will be a couple of years before getting someplace warm again for NYE.
Where you heading this year?

Looking at Ocho Rios or Jewel Runaway Bay with the grandkids again at the end of the year.

Sunscape cove is where we stayed, sunscape splash is right next door and they have the water park.
The nice thing about the cove side is only cove guests could eat in the restaurant but we could eat in any of the 4 on the splash side.
The buffet wasn?t the best but it worked when we were late getting back from an outing.
The sit down restaurant on the cove side was fantastic food for an all inclusive and the chef did a marvelous job with the Mahi Mahi I caught.
I prefer negril to MoBay, but with the kids along this trip this place was perfect for us.
Like the Rivera Maya a lot too as I know you do, too.

Cheers guys! Love the Jamaica talk.

Heading to Montego Bay this Saturday. Stayed in Ocho Rios in November. Probably going back to Ocho Rios next January or February. Hard to beat the weather, price, and travel time for Jamaican vacations.

Haven?t been to Ocho Rios before, is it more like MoBay or negril?
The morning of the day we were leaving the clouds were thick and the wind was howling out of the north. Temps were in the low 70s? and we were all feeezing...

Never been to Negril (weird, I know since we have been there 10x). From a Sandals property standpoint, Ocho Rios was wildly different. Two campuses (one beach, one pool) that you have to take shuttle buses back and forth to. Hated it at first but we ended up loving it. The pool at Ocho Rios is the nicest party pool I have ever seen and the swimming was awesome because they had it set up in a way with a dock that kept marine life nearby so you would swim with fish, which I thought was really fun. Montego Bay was recently renovated and is pretty sweet. Very long beach and some nice restaurants (relatively speaking).

Above the Clouds....
Thanks Mike I'll check it out.

Been to Negril 3 times and Mobay 6 0r 7. Never been to Ocho Rios because always thought it was more of Kids/Family type place.

The beaches in Negril are by far better than MoBay.

Our thoughts have changed over the last year because the grandkids are traveling with us now so we are looking at the kid friendly places.

Ocho Rios and Jewel Runaway Bay are on our list this year because they have water parks included within the resorts. Am looking at Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Bloody Bay too. They hae one of the nicest stretches of beach in Negril. (stayed in the bay 3 times).

WE'll still do our Mexico trips too!

Have fun Gary! This is the week we usually go to Cancun but switched our dates around so the grandkids could go with us to Playacar in Feb.
