Mike give me the latest shit on the Hawks for the year coming up?

Hi mark?
Almost football season again. Hawks are a bit in disarray heading to fall camp that starts Friday night.
Lots of transfers this summer of mostly backups but two of them were the backup QBs so other than Stanley there isn?t a QB on the roster with much experience or playing time. If Stanley goes down it?s going to be a long year in Iowa city.
A starting DB, manny rugamba, transferred as well but it sounds as if Iowa has plenty of depth there so it shouldn?t be a big deal.
Two offensive lineman will miss the opening game against UNI for a public intox and an OWI charge in the last couple of weeks.
I see another ho-hum, 7-5, 8-4 type season unless Stanley gets hurt then 6 wins might be tough even against the cupcake schedule Iowa has this season.
4 straight games at home to start the year including Iowa state and Wisconsin to open the big ten season on sept 22nd then a bye week on the 29th before finally heading out on the road in October.
Find a way to be 4-0 in September and there?s a chance Iowa has a date with the east winner in the big ten championship game in December.
Anything you hearing different from what I?ve mentioned here?

This just in: Brandon Snyder a defensive back is leaving the program.
The rats are jumping ship so they don?t have to go work with it.
He?s been out the last two season with ACL injuries but he was a stud when he played as a sophomore.
Wonder what?s up with all these transfers and what?s going on over in the athletic complex that?s leading to it all?

Concerned about the LB'ers and stopping the run. Think they got a couple great recruits coming in?

They say that often and then nothing happens.
Two more starting offensive linemen suspended for the UNI game on September 1st.
Line has dropped to Iowa -10.5?
you know anything about the Panthers other than Farley should be coaching in Iowa city instead of cedar falls?

UNI is Picked 3rd in their conference behind NDST & SDST. Had some big graduation loses.

No discipline in Iowa City this year--seems odd as they usually don't have too many problems like this? Like to see them bring in Calhoun from Air Force and run the option.

These last two were discipline problems; almost all the rest were grad transfers or grade problems. It?s a big deal when it?s the only two QBs with any experience behind the starter and a DB who was expected to start.
Today?s fish wrap has a write up on UNI. If there is anything worth mentioning I?ll post it here.
The option? In Iowa City? Iowa runs an 80s offense, but I can?t see them ever going back to the 40s. :mj07:

Helps to look at a schedule before commenting?
Yes, Iowa opens with a UNI? northern Illinois rather than northern Iowa.
If the line is still 10 or more by game time I?m thinking a small wager on the huskies will be in order

Couldn't agree more...why on earth did schools stop running the option???(granted I said this to Nebraska 15 years ago when they committed program suicide hiring Callahan/AD Peterson)...I still say the wish bone is the hardest offense to stop in history of college football...really looking forward to reading your thoughts come Saturday mornings here in a few short weeks...I am going to focus more on weather situations this year. After glancing over spread sheets from years gone by I have found the most consistent winner year in and year out for me has been weather related totals. After years of researching weather related games I have a very select view on specific situations that occur in college where the situation causes an anomaly on the set total...normally I play a few cents maybe a nickel but this year I am going to play 2 dimes on weather games and 2.5 cents on any other wagers..gl to you this year Hawk, your due for a monster year
