Many things are telling me to use my time to start football work, a sport I am much better at than golf. Owen's 80, Retief missing a place finish by a stroke, and losing the scoring prop by a stroke last week are all good indicators that things just aren't going my way. But I had already started work for this tournament about two weeks ago. Many of the players I wanted are priced way too low, but here is one that was on the original short list. For those don't know, I haven't cashed a posted outright this year (I've only posted them off and on for about two months), and have cashed exactly one Top 10 ticket. That's my disclaimer.
Outright 1/4 1-2-3-4-5
Roland Thatcher 100-1 e.w. @ Sportingbet
--Up until the International, Thatcher had put together his most consistent streak of tournaments on the Tour with three 20-something finishes. Now he returns to the place where he missed the playoff by one stroke last year, so he has to have some confidence that he can go low on this course. I'll take a shot at 100-1.
(Sportingbet is paying 1/4 for place finishes this week in this event.)
