Headed to Portland Or 1st week in August and traveling up and down the coast staying in Astoria. There from Monday thru Friday. Renting a car at the airport. Avis had what I wanted--with Southwest , which I am flying on, gave me a rate of $594--Orbitz--$596. Called Avis direct got the same car for $442:0008

Best rates for rental cars that I have found is at the Costco web site....

They give you quotes from 4 rental car companies & 1 of them is really out of whack low....

This is primarily the main reason why I joined Costco....

I use it all the time and price you see is FINAL price too

Checked both Hotwire and Costco--Hotwire higher but Costco $40 less--thanks guys for the tip

BUDGET Avis car reantals are best

trust me thats who my son works for

Budget, off of the airport, has some very cheap prices.
