well, dogfish, i can only tell you what didn't work for me when i lost my bankroll....
my records show a very low + (like +1.2%) when betting
1 unit to win
2 to place....
i lost my bankroll on exotics and pick threes...spending too much on the wager and hitting only those that paid almost nothing...so my exotic strategy cost me my bankroll.
i believe, dogfish, that hitting on 2/1 ponies, over the long haul,
will make it hard for you to make money. i do not know this by
firsthand fact, but my reading and observation seem to make this so. perhaps if you only played one or two races a day...meaning you would need to hit 1 out of 3 to be at 0% gained or lost.
