I just reported a bad MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) line at a book. This line most likely would not have been caught, but I thought I'd do the right thing and let them know. They thanked me and put some money in my account as a token of appreciation.

My question is this:

Does this happen at most books? Or was it because the bad line would have missed the reason they rewarded me? I mean if it was say a bad line on an NFL playoff game or a World Cup soccer game then they would have caught it and would not have given me free money?

Any other madjackers have experience with reporting a bad line? If so, what happened. Just curious?

I could have bet into this line and am 90% sure the mistake would not have been caught, but then again, that would not be cool.

I know this isn't the same thing but last night I hit a parlay and when it was graded there was 70 dollars plus some change awarded more then I should have gotten. I e-mailed them and they said it was correct but did not give any reason why there had been an increase in the payout.

I have had many experiences with this over the years. When I was younger I tried to take advantage but mostly they found out and confronted me. I played dumb.

About 2004 I had been playing at betgameday for awhile. On two occasions I reported that they had the incorrect tee times posted for pga daily matchups. The times were off by an hour. The third time this happened, I decided to take a shot. I made around 6k that entire weekend. For example they had woods vs Singh. Singh was like +275 or +300. After 3 holes Singh had a 4 or 5 stroke lead. I went all in and made 5 different parlays with other big money line favs in other sports.

The same book then had nfl Monday night football props. They offered how many touchbacks in the game say over/under 2 1/2. Over 2 1/2 + 250 and under 2.5 +300. I hit both sides for the max.

My view was they are sloppy and didn't correct what I told them twice. Oh well.

My advice now is if you spot a bad line on a major sport is to tell them asap. Possibly you could get a freeplay. Most likely it will be discovered by someone else.

If the book has treated you poorly and it is an obscure event, you be the judge as to whether you want to take a shot. Chances aren't good but sometimes it slips through.

One major negative is that if you play the bad line and lose, you lose; but if the book discovers the bad line you will not get paid. So you win nothing or lose!!!

I have been at books who give me anywhere from 20-40 credit for reporting and 1 or 2 just say thanks.

Betgameday was by far one of the worse sportsbooks about knowing times of events.
They always had soccer games still on the board even though they were already final.
I ripped them off a couple times with low plays not to make it obvious because I got tired of telling them and sometimes would not even get a thanks much less credit.
Lines would always disappear right after I emailed though.

Also, I used to have to email sponsor site WSEX that undercard UFC fights had already started.
Lines would be removed and a thanks email with no credits.
WSEX has really lost my interest. Maybe someone at Madjack can speak to them.
They don't offer many things other books offer.
Example, no Japanese MMA cards whewn everyone else does. Never let you parlay UFC or boxing plays when most others do.
Future plays in $10 increments only??
Simple things to fix and make site better.

My opinion.......

If you a report a bad line, book should give you something, not a lot, just something. But hey, just my opinion:shrug:

You almost think that someone on the inside was making these errors on purpose for associates to cash in. If not they were by far the sloppiest book ever. The entire vip family.

I got tired of telling them WEEKLY about games that were already complete with no thanks. I did a 5 team parlay for 50 bucks that paid like 1150 which all games were already over.
They sent me a email refunding the play warning me about trying to rip them off.
I blasted them for it telling them I got tired of telling them about it every week with no thanks.

"They said this is how you handle it,by trying to steal from us."
I told them if they didn't know when the game started then why should I.
Also told them if I was running a company handling this kind of cash then I would make sure crap like this NEVER happened, he said the occasional error occurs.
I told him I had reported about 30+games over a month that were still on the board after finishing.
THAT IS NOT OCCASIONAL.
I had about $90 in the account and went all in on a game and lost and never went back.
