Anyone here spent any time in Thailand?? Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai ?? Seems tons of Brits, Aussies, Canucks are. Besides being able to screw your brains out 24/7 what else is appealing to you?

Not sure I would survive the flight. I won't ever go back to Hawaii because of that flight and that's only half way. It would have to be first class, go check those prices. :scared

Same to Europe.. Air travel has gotten beyond the reach of too many people Thats why Cruises are the new travel choices.. Ya get stuck in a box ya get let out for feeding and ya get dumped into the worst tourist traps on the planet... Wrks for me. Back in the 80's i got to fly every where in hemisphere Eastern had $499 unlimited flying. Icelandic $249 RT ta Iceland Never in my life paid more n $200 for RT ta Vegas. Many times less.... Shit back when i had a Honda Civic gas was less $99 RT.

I spent 17 days in Thailand in 2010. I'm not sure there is a lot to do there other than the bars and cheap massage. Some of the beaches are nice. They seemed to have killed off most of their wildlife and they don't care about nature. It is very inexpensive there, however, it's also very far away. The flight took 26 hours. I'm also not sure I could live in a place that not only has a different language but also a completely different alphabet.

For someone that's going to retire in Wisconsin and not Thailand, you sure are doing a lot of research and seem to have a gauged interest in the country.

I kind of thought i would retire in Las Vegas considering i spent more time there than any where else but when it went to shit i looked for other options. Problem is no matter where i went I always missed the stuff and convenience and situations i have here. From custard to dining options and the familiarity with everything i needed in life .. including a dream home i cant duplicate any where else in the world.... Doctors Lawyers Carpenters Plumbers and a casino with OTB a bike ride or bus from my house etc. Free bus service free food case life ever went ta shit and a decent life even when i get real old with all the support systems that exist here. CR Thailand Europe Puerto Rico my # 1 choice don't have any of that. Plus all the stuff i cant bring with me that i have accumulated over the years. I can spend my winters any where i want and have most of my life since i was 22 years old. Shortest vacation i ever had was 17 days to get my at the time GF ta get to like Las Vegas . She hated it and a short time later she dumped me because we had dif versions of the future.

Although I certainly wouldn't live there, traveling and visiting the country was awesome. The natives are tremendously friendly and sociable, the culture is different and interesting, and the street food is phenomenal!

Peace! :)

About what i have heard. Very interesting to me where people end up. 4 people i know ended up in Central Florida or the Fla Panhandle... location in either holds Zeero interest to me. Gag.... how about 90 miles to a DR...or 20 miles to an Aldis. {Cheap Groceries} How about 3 miles off a main road in Northern Wisconsin.. 3 days to get plowed out. Pray u never have a Medical emergency. But you might see a deer in your backyard every morning. Oh Yeah !!! How about a trailer in the Middle of New Mexico. 60 miles to town. But your Grandma left you the land... and you got the trailer for $150.00 Course you have a Brand new Harley under a Blue tarp. Blowing sand every day for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner !!!!
