Revenge angle went 0-3 last night bringing it to 28-21 since we started tracking. Things seems a little funky coming out of the break. Teams adjusting to trades, key injuries, some playing on better than average rest after the break, etc. We'll see what happens going forward. This idea might be a throw-away all together.

One for tonight...

TOR +4.5 @ DAL: It's been a while since these two last squared off on 11/28 when the Mavs took the first meeting in Toronto 106-102. Mavs led that game from the middle of the 1st qtr all the way to the finish, although the Raps manged to bring it to within 2 late with under 10 seconds to go before the game was sealed with free throws. That game was played the day after Thanksgiving so both were on full rest. Looking at this game tonight, TOR comes in playing the 2nd of a back-to-back while Dallas completed a 3 games in 4 nights stretch on Sunday. It would seem that the deciding factor in this one will be the match-up at point guard and how Rondo will fare defensively against Lowry. Given that this is meeting of East-West contenders who last played each other a little less than 3 months ago, I don't expect revenge to be a strong factor here, although TOR may be looking to pay back the favor for the loss on their home court and looking to close out this four game road trip (1-2, L-2) with a win.

Um, 0-4 there Deezy!!

For tonight...

MIL +7 LOSS @ CHI: Double revenge spot for Bucks here. MIL lost early in the season on their home floor 86-95 on 11/5 and more recently in CHI 87-95 on 1/10, with CHI covering both as a favorite of 5 and 6 points respectively. As noted yesterday, the Bucks are a tough team to cap right now using this angle as their team looks very different than the early January squad. Trading your starting PG and best player has an obvious affect on team chemistry and that needs to be taken into account when looking at this from a revenge perspective. Bucks are also 0-2 ATS since the trade deadline and may continue to struggle against the number as they adjust their new roster and fit Carter-Williams in (reported out tonight). These teams will meet once more this season on April 1st.

TOR -7.5LOSS These two last faced off in Toronto on 1/18 in a game that went back and forth late with the Pels pulling out a two point win 95-93 on a last second shot by Tyreke Evans. This would seem like a prime opportunity for TOR to exact their revenge with both Davis and Anderson sidelined with injuries, but keep in mind that Davis was out in the prior meeting as well. We saw Asik and Anjika log big minutes at the Center position and put up a combine 33 points, well above their scoring averages. While, I don't expect to see an output like that tonight, it's not like TOR has a lot of quality depth at the center position. TOR coming off a blowout loss in HOU saturday after a dominant showing in ATL the night before, but this is a tough scheduling spot for them playing the 3rd game of a 4 in 5 night stretch on the road. Whether show up tonight, tomorrow's match-up in Big D will be the 2nd revenge game for them in a row.

PHX -8 LOSS vs BOS: Going to leave this one out because while both teams are still in playoff contention, it looks like the Suns have packed it with their recent tades in and the Celts are a fringe contender at best for the 8th spot in the East.

LAC -3.5 LOSS vs MEM: Good revenge spot for the Clips tonight. Hoping to do a write-up on this later when I have time to come back.

Like I said, I am disregarding BOS and PHX as potential playoff contenders in their respective conferences and thus did not count it in the record. Thanks for checking in on me though, Bill.
