As they say, ?Every dog has his day? and this has been especially true this season in the NFL. No thanks to a certain #7 from Atlanta, dogs had a very ruff off-season; however, over the last three weeks they have come back with a vengeance, covering 63% of the time. The biggest dog that covered during Week 4 action was the Chiefs as they not only covered but defeated the disappointing Chargers despite being 12.5 point dogs. Looking at the Week 4 schedule, there are four double digit dogs. If any of them accomplish what the Chiefs did last week (winning outright), Sportsbook.com bettors will make an extra profit. For Week 5 of the NFL season, Sportsbook.com will be unleashing its ?Revenge of the Dogs? promotion. Simply put, if you back a double digit dog and they win outright, an extra 20% will be added to your winnings.

For this weekend?s games, there are currently three double digit dogs: Cleveland +16.5 @ New England, Buffalo +10 vs. Dallas and Tampa Bay +10 @ Indianapolis. The double digit dog that the Sportsbook.com public feels has the best chance of covering and possibly winning outright is not surprisingly Tampa Bay as 40% of the early cash is on the Bucs. This percentage could actually rise a bit as 10 points seems to be a lot for a team that is 3-1 and has given up only 24 points in their last three games. The Bucs have definitely been one of the most pleasant surprises through the first four weeks and the betting public has taken notice. They opened up at 4-1 to win the NFC South; since, those odds have been slashed to 1-2. Besides a reinvigorated defense, much of their drastic improvement has to be credited to Jeff Garcia. Last season, Tampa ranked 31st in the NFL in scoring, mustering up only 13.2 points per game. Thanks to Garcia and a much improved running game, that number has jumped to over 20 points per game. RB Carnell Williams is done for the season but Buccaneer faithful feel as if Earnest Graham and Michael Pittman should be able to make up the slack. So far, they are combining to average 5.1 yards per carry and 3 touchdowns. Both should get plenty of action from the get go on Sunday as they face an Indy defense that surrenders 127.5 rushing yards per game, including 223 just last week. If the Bucs expect to stay close with the high powered Colts, Garcia will need to manage the clock efficiently with help from the running game.
