I sense your skepticism....is this the same Dead Money that reviewed
Vegas Buffets like Bellagio, Aria, Cosmopolitan, Wynn, Caesers Palace?
Is he delusional?
Well folks, sometimes you got to say...."WTF" if its good enough
for Jeff Foxworthy, somebody must like it......
Went for lunch today Sat (wearing very dark sunglasses and ball cap, I kid.) had zero expectations.
The parking lot was full about 1 PM Sat...LOTS of pickup trucks and SUV'S....
You enter, get in line, prepay $8.99, drinks extra $2.49, seniors get a buck off, kids $5.99.
I wandered briefly around the large buffet a couple times seeing nothing of interest.
I saw left over breakfast from earlier in the day, the fried chicken looked left over from yesterday, the oriental section looked totally cold and un-inspiring, the Mexican section was absolute crap...
It was a moment of "Good grief, what sh*t"
Then I saw it....
Slow Cooked Pot Roast.... Big chunks of lean beef pot roast, real carrots, potatoes with skin, peas, onions, all swimming in brown gravy...
my heart raced....it smelled pretty good, the beef had char on it, and fell apart as you stirred the tray.
I spooned a half bowl full, found a piece of tasty fresh made corn bread and went back to the table....
First mouth full I was in love...not quite Granny good, but close.
I had three big bowls full...it saved the day....
I checked out the desserts...total YUK....future diabetics were spearing strawberries and soaking them in the chocolate fountain
putting them on their plate full of crappy pre-made chocolate, carrot cake, apple pies covered in artificial ice cream....in the other hand they carried cotton candy....cotton fu*kin candy
on a dessert bar....
To be fair, there was fresh salads by the tub with many toppings, fresh fire grilled pork, chicken, burgers, fresh sliced ham....I did see more than one person just getting grilled stuff and veggies and no starches, hard to beat the price.
It is a great place to people watch....I never saw so many Bubbas and Bubbetts with their kids....this is NOT a high fashion restaurant..... The age group seemed babies to mid 40 year olds.
I was in nice khaki shorts and a Greg Norman shirt and felt very over-dressed.
I know where I am going when I crave one of my favorites, very good Pot Roast.......for $7.99 I can hurt them.
