2 Columbus Blue Jackets -190 over New Jersey Devils

WON 4-1

The Devils have done quite miserably on the road lately against teams with a winning home record (50 losses in the last 70 games) and even worse in contests played with no rest (just 1 victory on the past 7 tries). So, with both of those scenarios put together, you have got a nightmare of a combination for New Jersey. Especially against the Blue Jackets who have won four straight outings against sides with a poor record, five of their last six domestic fixtures and 14 of the previous 17 meetings with the Devils.

If I didn't hate -1.5 games, that would be my play.

26 Calgary Flames -205 over Buffalo

Lost 4-3

Most of the talk in the league is about the strong teams in the East and the Preds and Jets in the west but not many are talking about the Calgary Flames. Well, they better start talking. The Flames have been one of the hottest teams in the league and they currently lead the Western Conference in points with 64. The Flames enter this game off a 7-1 home win over the Coyotes and they have now won their last five in a row and seven of their last eight. Their offense has been (pardon the pun) on fire as they have averaged a whopping 5.00 gpg over their last eight games. Mark Giordano (8th & 9th) & Matthew Tkachuk (22nd & 23rd) each scored twice in the win over the Coyotes while Sean Monahan (25th), Johnny Gaudreau (27th) and Sam Bennett (7th) also scored for the Flames; so says DAVID HESS.

shouldn't it be +263? Risking 500 to win 263??

NO.

-200 if betting 500 is 250 if it is a winner.

Agreed. I think we are saying the same thing. Your post had you winning $500 when the return was actually $263. I see you changed it in a later post. Best of Luck.

42 Minnesota Wild -168 over Anaheim Ducks

Lost 3-0 Last night was one of those nights. It does not bother me to lose a bet but it does bother me when two of my selections do not put the effort into the game.

Desperate to end a club-record 12-game losing streak, the Anaheim Ducks try to end their woes Wednesday night against a Minnesota Wild team trying to climb the standings in the Central Division. There is little going Anaheim?s way at the moment. Minnesota picked up a needed victory last time out. This is an opportune time for Boudreau?s team to pick up a little steam at the expense of the struggling Ducks.

68 Boston Bruins -232 over St Louis

Lost 3-2

Boston has won 7 of its last 10 on home ice against New York. The Bruins have won 39 of the last 54 at home, 4 of the last 5 after scoring 5 or more goals the previous outing and 4 of the last 5 when playing the third game of a 3-in-4 scenario. The Rangers have won just 15 of the last 52 on the road.

The Professional Handicappers League has a few professional consensus services for those looking for a consensus of expert sports picks. Personally, we like to know where the money goes early, especially looking for drastic early money on one side, which is often "smart money", whereas heavy action closer to game time is usually "square money". There is early heavy money on Toronto. As most people who know me understand, I hate the -1.5 bet. It is time to get back on track here with the NHL.

16 Vegas Golden Knights -170 over Minnesota

Lost 4-2

The Golden Knights enter this game having won nine of their last 11.The Knights are off a strong 7-3 home win over the Penguins. The Knights have now allowed 2.00 gpg over their last 11 games. They will look to keep that going against a Minnesota team that has struggled to score. Perhaps, Vegas will help me with my surprising NHL struggle. Go Vegas.

28 Calgary Flames -170 over Carolina

Won 3-2

Calgary is one of the hottest teams in the NHL and they have been particularly good at home. In the last 23 games at home they are 16-4-3. The Flames are 7-1 in their last 8 overall, 7-1 in their last 8 vs. a team with a losing record and 5-1 in their last 6 games following a win. Rittich has been money in goal as of late while the Hurricanes have given up an average of 5 goals their last three games. The Hurricanes are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Calgary.
