This is good for Ricky. It seemed like the Saints were trying to keep him from reaching his incentives last year.

Miami has never had a high profile RB and now they do, IMO.

Hopefully he can show some of that talent that we got to see for years in Austin. Maybe this is just what he needed to finally get on track. Seemed like it never clicked in New Orleans.

I think the biggest upside for Ricky is playing on natural grass where he can pound for an extra yard or two against LBs and DBs. The extra traction on turf seems to favor DBs and LBs. Remember when the aggies complained that we kept the field wet and the grass long to help Ricky when he broke the record?

That shit was hilarious. After losing the game, they complained about the surface it was played on as if the Longhorns got to play on dry turf while they had to struggle with wet grass the whole game. Ridiculous.

You bring up an interesting point about him pounding for extra yardage. I think that may have something to do with why he has been relatively ineffective so far in his career. He simply doesn't go out of bounds. He always hits the D and works his ass off for one or two extra yards. Problem is - sometimes while one guy is trying to push him backwards, another guy comes flying in and drills him. I admire the toughness, but for the sake of staying healthy and helping out his team, I hope he starts to understand that sometimes going out of bounds is a good thing.
