is it worth taking to battle severe fatigue?

has anyone taken this pill or had any experience with it?

it is costly at approx. at $279 cdn a month/twice a day, so just wondering.

drug plan up here does not cover it.

I looked it up. One of the side effects is extreme fatigue.

Rifaximin, sold under the trade name Xifaxan among others, is an antibiotic used to treat traveler's diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, and hepatic encephalopathy.

What are your physician options and what are they saying you need to do? Follow their diet instructions 100% and take Meds THEY say to take. It sounds like it can be gotten under control if you want to and diet correctly, no drinking, and go to bathroom regularly. Is a liver transplant an option with your Physician? Not sure what is available with Canadian health insurance.

They say ths drug is hit and miss. I do the diet thing, exercise, and have a great team of specialist doctors.

I have not had a drink in 5+ years.

I take Lactose 5 times a days and have (need) 3 bowel movements per day. This is the most important thing because the liver cannot get rid of toxic chemicals that build in a normail person's body. When they build up to certain point is when i get into trouble with hepatic encephalopathy.

This drug MAY be another option, they are looking into everything.

Liver transplant is a last option and survival percentage rates are not great.

Ask your doctors if they think taking some amylase enzyme with food would help (fatigue).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amylase

Helped me with over all fatigue and digestion. Helps specially after eating carbs (pizza/burgers junk) or eating foods i'm allergic to. I didn't have any real problems but i tried it out of curiosity and it helped a lot.
I have lost weight (i don't feel like eating all the time) and stomach isn't giant gas bubble after eating.

Also it's pretty cheap and you can get it with out prescription.

I have been using pills that have following enzymes:
Amylas 7500 DU
Protease 180000HUT
Glucoamylase 10 AGU
+ 6 other enzymes.

60pills is like $15.

cheers, i hope you feel better :0008

Yes, it?s a great drug! Sorry it?s so expensive. Check with the manufacturer. They often have discounts for those without coverage. I would do anything to prevent hepatic encephelopathy!!

Why do insurance companies get a PASS and don?t have to cover drugs and tests that they don?t want to pay for? I think this pisses me off more than anything. Everyfuckingthing is to make a buck and screw people over. MAN!

because somewhere along the line human beings decided as a mass entity that they would no longer live by the credo of........."You are your brothers keeper."

It's a simple thing. And given all the resources on this planet there is no reason for those who are sick or ill or hungry not to get what they need to at least have a chance to get better other than one thing...

Greed.............
