RIP Dr Buss!! One of the smartest men in the world with a zest for life, people and making money!!

Now perhaps the Lakers will get inspired to fire Mitch Ku-check and bring in someone to run the organization that understands basketball the way Jerry West did for this team because Mitch knows diddly, trust me when I say that.

Lakers were bought for $60-million? I think the Buss' children are set for life here if they ever decide to sell the team.

Those children were set for life when he bought the team for about 16 mill (he got a lot else for his 65 mill besides the Lakers). It's worth about 1 billion $$$ now,

Which means he could have 1,000 children and they would each get a million and be set for life.

LMAO Yanno!! :mj07: U r absolutely right! Also he got the arena and the hockey team at a bargain back then, plus all the real estate, partnership with Hugh Hefner, etc., school of hard knocks and determination, got married at 19? Finished his MA and PHD and wallah!! Not many like him, perhaps Cuban will mature but nah, he's still a blue jeans and yell at the refs kinda guy, Jerry just loved being there!! Made some pretty good looking kiddos too!

Lakers will miss him!!

I wish he had left Jeannie in charge instead of Jim.....

Been a Laker fan since Gail Goodrich - saw Magic Johnson play as a rookie - used to go to the Fabulous Forum and buy nosebleed seats, by the middle of the 3rd quarter I was down in the loge - saw many a playoff game - Kareem - Magic - Van Excel - Vlade, Shaq, Kobe - so many great times...

He will be missed....

Perhaps Jim will bring in Phil as GM? Or President of Operations? We shall see.

Loved the vintage Laker squads with Elgin Baylor, Gail, Jerry, Wilt, then came Coop, Worthy, How about my old HS team mate, Mike McGee? He could shoot and hung his tongue down before MJ came around in the league, lol!

We will miss the "BIG BUSS" for a long time!!

Down goes a dinosaur, but he will be watching down on us all!!
