Help with Itinerary...

Flying into Kansas City, then driving to Branson, Memphis, Pensacola, and on to Jacksonville.

I'm pretty well versed on Branson, but the rest is up in the air.

I want to go to John Daly's bar in Memphis, probably spend some time on Beale st., and take a quick trip on the paddle wheel boat.

Once in Florida, I'll play golf and I want to see the golf museum in St. Augustine.

Leaving mid-May....I plan on 10 days or so.

Given the route, can anyone suggest other points of interest?

Been to all of those places, Branson is nice but really for the older crowd. Lake of the Ozarks which is right next to it is much more fun. If you get a chance go get some barbeque in KC, many great places in the city. Also, visit a bar named Kelly's which is downtown - lots of fun during football season and you'll see lots of eye candy. Memphis is cool, only been there once but it has some nice places. Florida is always nice, my best friend lives down there and I have been a lot of places. Best places I have been - Rachel's (cool strip club outside Orlando), Bamboo Willies (night club in Pensacola), Seville Quarter (bar in Pensacola). Jacksonville has all kinds of stuff.

Come to Lawrence! It is less than an hour from KCI! I'll do my best to get you layed... Just kidding.

My favorite Q in KC is BB's Lawnside and Rosedale

Best Q in Memphis is Cozy Corner and Interstate BBQ .....I think they are a small step above Rendezvous Ribs and A&R.

The best show in Memphis is Sunday services at Al Green's Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.....When he's not on tour, he usually performs and preaches here. Call ahead to see if he's gonna appear. You'll never forget a Sunday trip here!

Then there's the legendary Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I would definately go to the original Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City. It is in a very trashy part of town, but it is very unique... right across the street from the Chiefs old stadium, and the food is incredible...

If you have time, catch a game at the "K." The Royals are awful, yes, but Kaufmann has to be the most underrated stadium in the majors. Great site lines, very open, cozy... I love that park.

Have fun!

Thanks guys. I hadn't really thought much about the BBQ in Kansas City, but now that you've mentioned it, I'll make a special effort to partake.

Kneifl, I put "Bamboo Willies" on my to-do list :)

Terryray, you swayed me towards BBQ for sure. Thanks for the links, they were mouth-watering.....I"m not sure which I'll choose, but I won't leave without trying one of the places you suggested.

Jayhawk, I won't be going up to Lawrence this trip, but if future trips allow I'll give you a call. I checked the schedule to see if the Angels were playing in KC, but not until June. THe Royals are in Cleveland the days I'll be there.... :(

Any more suggestions ??

Too bad, man.

I do have another suggestion, actually... my favorite KC casinos are very close to the airport.

Within 20 minutes or so there is Ameristar and Harrah's.

I am very partial to Ameristar. Great place... Actually looks like a Vegas casino... nice poker room, lots of games, restaurants, bars, shows, etc.

I'm racking my brain... but to be honest there isn't a whole lot to do here but get wasted...
