The Detroit Tigers go for their first win in nine games tonight when they host the Colorado Rockies in the second of a three-game interleague series at Comerica Park.

Detroit are just 16-48 overall this season including an embarrassing 5-25 at home. Lefty Mike Maroth takes the hill for the Tigers hoping for some offensive support. He has allowed just two earned runs in each of his last three starts yet is just 1-2 during this stretch. Overall this season he is 1-11, 5.35 ERA.

Colorado are an even 34-34 to be in third place in the NL West. They won the first game of this series 7-2 last night thanks to a six-run sixth inning. Scott Elarton gets the start tonight and he is 3-1 despite a 6.14 ERA. Last time out he allowed six runs and 11 hits over five innings against the Kansas City Royals. In one career start against Detroit Elarton is 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA.

The Rockies are just 9-24 on the road this season and although the Tigers have the worst home record in the majors tonight we like their chances of winning or at least losing by just one run.
