I'm not sure OS about taking a shit online but taking a piss would save me many steps hunting for bathrooms . Sorry to hear about Rockport they make a pretty good shoe , I have a pair at least 15 yrs. old in my closet that I probably wear about 10 x's a year. I had a lot more to share but I have to go to the bathroom. See ya !

Amazon will destroy the world

I politely disagree. I know these subjects really irk you, and some I agree. I truly wonder how many guys have Rockport as their shoe of choice on this site? I haven't seen a Rockport in years. I could be wrong. Others will chime in. Bottom line, there will always be quality shoe manufacturers with store fronts. J&M, ECCO, Florsheim, Cole Haan, Allen Edmonds, Sperry, etc.

There are more obese US adults than those who are just overweight. According to a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), in 2008, the obesity rate among adult Americans was estimated at 32.2% for men and 35.5% for women; these rates were roughly confirmed by the CDC again for 2009?2010.
[h=3]Fast Facts[/h]According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 2013?2014[SUP]2,3,4,5[/SUP]

  • More than 1 in 3 adults were considered to be overweight.
  • More than 2 in 3 adults were considered to be overweight or have obesity.
  • More than 1 in 3 adults were considered to have obesity.
  • About 1 in 13 adults were considered to have extreme obesity.
  • About 1 in 6 children and adolescents ages 2 to 19 were considered to have obesity.
Americans ain't walking nowhere they don't have too.

The world is changing and these companies refused to adapt. Stop thinking the world is going to hell because of technology. Gimme a break.

So you're changing the topic to unemployment then? That's cool.

it's all one in the same when it's all said and done...we need storefronts and walkin businesses in this country where people can go to work and buyers can put there hands on what the want to purchase at the time they want to purchase it.

Amazon has their way and the drones and trucks deliver everything under the sun...

We can eliminate even more cashiers more storeroom stockers at the local stores.

We can eliminate more vendors who have the routes who service these stores because now they only need direct shipment because with self checkout the store doesn't have enough for anyone to do so vendors are eliminated.

We can eliminate more cleaning crews ...more street sweepers....

While we are at it...We can eliminate the store that is 15 blocks down the road..While we used to have enough business to keep both stores open and provide jobs for our folks in the neighborhood we can no longer do that.

When I get my Rockports I want to try them on first...Any clothing I buy I want to try on first...anything for my boat I want to see it and hold it to know it's what I need to fix the problem.

Stores..........they employ people and provide goods. You go inside and hopefully get what you need.

Now common sense says there is a place for advancement of getting goods..I get it..

Common sense also says we as a country don't need to get to a situation where we end up with millions of people with nothing to do.

IMHO that is where we are headed.........empty storefronts which I saw plenty of [7 in a row in the strip mall in old Wards Corner today at lunch with the boys] and a nation with a very large segment of its society with no jobs to be had...........all in the name of advancement.

and I understand too that some of these fallen company's could have fared better if they had been smarter either with store #'s or entering into the web world sales.........

Amazon appealed to America's wants.......

never having to get up for anything
