Would be curious with the PGA kicking off soon who the punters here would pick as their "no respect" or sleeper in the coming year.If you had to choose 1 player who odds in past have been generally over 20/1 and play him every tourney E/W who would you choose to have best chance to show profit and why?

What about Robert Allenby?

He is infuriatingly inconsistent and difficult to catch the right week.

Consequently his price is always good.
But if you had followed him with a level stake for each event over the last 2 years you would be well in pocket with 2 US and 1 Australian victories each year.
He also had 3 high priced European tour wins the season he had the car crash from which he now seems fully recovered.

I am not sure about the each way bet... he seems a bit shit or bust... perhaps just a win only?

In addition.... he is going to win the British Open next year. (That's 2 Majors sorted already Olazabal 80/1 US Masters)

Thank you for your insight Bettingmad.
My contribuation would be a Euro transplant who's getting up there in years (44)and is a horse for course, playing sparingly in 17 events choosing high profile tough courses where his course management makes him most effective as witness by finishes of 3rd-Players Champ,6th-Masters,3rd-British Open-11th NEC Invitational,10th Tour Champ and 3rd in most recent Sun City Challange.
The very nature of the tourneys he excells in coupled with the no respect factor has his ave odds in these events historically above 40/1 yet with 4 top 3,s in 17 events last year in a "place only" wager (1st 4) @ Oly a modest 17/1 win odds would have been a break even point giving a very tidy profit.
Once again this year Bet365 has him @ 80/1 in Masters futures relecting no respect for one who has Masters history of 7 top 10's 2 wins and finished 6 last year there.
I definately will be keeping a close eye on Mr Langer once again this year.

I agree.

With his course form and the way he has played this year Langer must be on anyone's Masters shortlist.

Age didn't stop O'Meara! Or me... when I lead all the way to win last year's British Open (alas just the GCS tipping contest!)

Got to agree on the Langer front but I don't think he is up to winning in the US again - one player that might surprise (again) is indeed O'Meara
There are many young players who will start at false odds on both tours and some may win, but one I think could do himself justice on the European Tour this season is Simon Dyson

DTB,
Thought this thread was worth a resurrection now the fourm is more active again.

Season sleepers anyone?

My Robert Allenby needs a new flat stick before I wager on him again....
last week he was 2nd in GIR with 88.9% but 32nd (and last) in putting with 35, 34, 34, & 35 putts per round.... ouch!
Drive for show putt for dough :)
