Crooky, I wish you all the best with your picks, after all the purpose of posting on here is to share info with others, however I do think your setting yourself up for a fall by posting your record on all the other threads too!!! Let your record speak for itself + think v.carefully before posting tomorrow.

just a thought from a hoss who knows....:)

good luck (honestly).

Hoss, no rugby forum would be complete without your comments!! :p

The purpose of posting in the other threads is simply to get more people to visit the 'Off The Wall' section, not only for my information, but for others who post very good info in here e.g 1837, gardenweasel, British Bulldog etc etc

I feel that not many come in here so often, but lets hope that changes. It was not selfish of me to do, neither can I guarantee that tomorrow will be a profitable day. However, with Canada in action I thought this weekends rugby might be of more interest to the North Americans. Also, I have taken a lot of good advice off the people in the other forums in their sports, and am very keen to return the favour.

If you dont like it you can kiss my :moon: :D

Seriously, I look forward to your comments and best of luck to you this weekend!! :)

Funny, I thought my comments on Super 12 were very profitable....:p :D

I'll try + chip in tomorrow, but as you know it's a busy sporting day for us pro's! It would be good if Anders, PAWA, or any of the other Southern boys chipped in with their views on the games. The one play I'm leaning towards is on GB for the Rugby League, hoping to get +6 tomorrow. I feel the tide is turning now, with all the various Kiwi injuries and absences mounting up. No great logic just feel it in my water :)

Incidentally Crooky, if you want to e-mail me - I have some info you may/may not be interested in...;)

hoss

ps I have no intention of kissing your face :thefinger :D

France vs Canada (Stade de France, Paris, 14:30 GMT)

France come off the back of an enthralling test match draw with the mighty All Blacks last weekend, where had it not been for some shocking goal kicking by last weeks French fly-half, who is today replaced by Gerald Merceron.

Canada were involved in a scrappy defeat by Wales last week in a scrappy match where the referee was the dominant man in the middle. Last week, the astute goalkicking Jared Barker kept the Canadians in it, and he is replaced this week by the longest serving international player in world rugby, whose career has spanned over three decades. The goal kicking of Bob Ross will be vital today.

On the whole, a tough test for the Canadians, who will look to the experience of skipper Al Charron who is back to lead his country. They proved a few points to me last week, and showed that Canadians dont only play ice-hockey, baseball, and basketball, but posess a very dedicated international rugby team. Take the big start given by the bookies and run! ;)

2 Point Win Canada (+39) at 10/11 with SportingOdds (Same line available with SportingBet)

Italy vs Australia (Genova, Italy, 15:30 GMT)

The hapless Italians make nine changes to the team hammered by the Argentinians last Saturday. Included in those losses is instrumental fly-half Diego Dominguez, who is a vital source of points for the Italians.

Australia, who threw away a big lead against England last week, field a strong team, bursting with world class talent. A notable swap is switching Stirling Mortlock to full-back, and bringing Matt Burke in at centre, and the effect this has will be interesting.

The fact that Argentina beat the Italians by thirty points last week, and that this week the Aussies face a similar handicap, is beyond me. I can only put it down to the wet conditions, the Aussies will face up in the Northern port of Genova. Despite, bad conditions playing to the advantage of the Irish a fortnight ago, in defeating the Aussies, there is no danger of a repeat. Too much class will not allow this, and it is hard to see where the Italians can score points with the loss of Diego Dominguez. A certain 2 point bet had it not been for the conditions, but I am still confident the Aussies can cover.

1 Point Win Australia (-32) at 10/11 with PaddyPower (Line also available with SportingOdds, SportingBet, and Bet365)

Ireland vs Argentina (Lawnsdowne Road, Dublin, 16:00 GMT)

Ireland again at full strength apart from the absence of skipper Keith Wood, who is still injured, so centre Brian O'Driscoll continues to deputise as skipper.

Irish rugby is on a crest of a wave at the moment. Irish provincial sides playing well in Europe, and the national team looking to extend their run of test wins to six with defeat of the Argentinans. There is no doubt that Argentina are fast becoming the improved tam of world rugby, and like their football counterparts, are now a major international force in World Rugby.
It is vital for Ireland not to become stuck in a forward battle with the Argies, which could prove dangerous. Instead, they must look to spread the ball to their talented backs, and release the likes of O'Driscoll, O'Gara and Horgan. If they do this, they cover the handicap of nine points.

1 Point Win Ireland (-8.5) at 9/10 with Tattersalls

Wales vs New Zealand (Millenium Stadium, Cardiff, 14:30 GMT)

Wales make one change to the team that struggled against Canada last weekend with lock Rob Sidoli coming into the second row. My beloved Welsh will be looking to end an amzing run of test defeats against the All Blacks that stretches back 49 years to 1953.

The All Blacks field five new caps, mainly in the forwards in a team that still has the talent of Lomu, Mehrtens, Umaga to turn to. The big man himself will be looking to end a scoreless streak against Wales.....how many international teams can say that about Jonah Lomu??

Perhaps an over reaction by the compilers, in only giving Wales a fifteen point start. This is mainly due to the new look All Blacks line up. But what people dont realise, is that Wales also have a handful of players who have only experienced test rugby against the minnows of the rugby world, and that they too are new to this class of international rugby. Bad pitch conditions, and a unfamiliar All Black line up reduces this to a 1 point bet, but I still fancy them defeating Wales by more than fifteen.

1 Point Win New Zealand (-15) at 10/11 with BlueSquare (Line also available with StanJames)

As you can see, a lot of plays today. This is not a case of forcing the plays, but I simply see a lot of value today. If I dont like anything, then I simply dont bet.

I have no play on the England-South Africa game. I will record the game, and simply sit back and hope for some sort of Springbok revival. It is a big start offered by the bookies......a few years ago a fifteen point would be jumped at, but these days, England are a world class team, and the Boks have fallen somewhat. If I was to have a bet, then I would advise a small bet on the Boks with the points, and hope for a big improvement. If they dont improve, then I shudder at the thought of the English demoralising yet another proud rugby country.

I am certain I have found a play on tomorrows Scotland-Fiji game, and will post either tonight, or early tomorrow morning GMT.

Best of luck to everyone!! :) :D

Hoss,

I dropped you an e-mail last night, so get in touch.

Hate to piss on the bonfire, but where did you see those lines

Tote have France at -36, Argentina at +9, and Italy at +36?????

The only book offering the Argentinians twelve is SportingOdds, while you can get France -32 with Stan James. However, I cannot see anything remotely comparing to your Australia line!!

Crooky, will pick up e-mail when I get back home - get back to you tonight.:)

All line were with the Tote this morning (all in Racing Post this morning) and I got on them all at 9:01am this morning. I can only guess that they've changed the lines, which is odd as they used to just move the price??

I trust they will honour my original bets (if they need to! :scared )

not a good sign though - it means the prices will move much quicker in future - like Bet365 and Sp.Odds do now!

England, u.k.
ENGLAND v. SOUTH AFRICA

England to win (-13.5) @ 9/10 with Easybets

South Africa were unable to get within 20 points of England last time and with the Springboks performing badly against France and Scotland in recent weeks things dont bode well here.
England will dominate South Africa's pack, their three quarter line will produce very little and with the "boks" lacking a leader at stand off a long hard day appears in store.
With so many changes in the South African team they have no settled side or pattern to their play. Rain is forecast for the area, but if it still came to a kicking game, England would still play the controlled game and the boot of Wilkinson will punish S.Africa's indisapline with his goal kicking.

By taking the 1/2 point the draw is out of the equation.

ENGLAND - 13.5 @ 9/10 FOR 3 POINTS

I cant even remember posting that reply last night!! A few hours of my life went missing last night I guess! :toast: :drinky: :lol2

Great to get back to winning ways after last weekends disappointment. Good work as well from Hoss and British Bulldog. A very proud Welshman after that performance yesterday, and believe me the result flattered the All Blacks.

England go from strength to strenth all be it against a fourteen man Springbok team, while Ireland struggle against the Argies in pouring rain. Perhaps a little fortunate to cover the handicap by half a point, but I am not complaining. A tad disappointed to miss out on a 100% day with the Aussies failing the handicap by a single point. However, hats off to the Canadians for keeping France within 39 points and landing our nap of the day.
