England vs Australia (+8) Twickenham, London 14:30 GMT

Unusual for me to post on a Friday night, as lines dont come out with every book until Saturday morning. However, I feel this line has the potential to change, so I am posting a play now.

The Aussies are coming off two awful displays, where they unconvincingly disposed of Argentina before crashing to Ireland in terrible conditions in Dublin last week. They make a total of six changes to the team humiliated by the Irish, as they travel to London in desperate need of a win.

England on the other hand are confident after their defeat of a depleted All Blacks team. This victory has done us a favour, which has given us exactly the type of handicap I expected off the over-confident bookies.

Write off the Wallabies at your peril....they have world class players throughout their team, and are eager to prove to World Rugby that they are still the best in the game. The likes of Larkham, Gregan and co will have dealt their pride a huge blow with that defeat last week, and will be looking for a big improvement this week.

I am not going to predict that England will lose but it is sure to be closer than the converted try offered by our over generous bookies. ;)

Wales vs Canada (+18) Millenium Stadium, Cardiff 16:30 GMT

Wales were very impressive in defeating Fiji last week, and I fully expected them to field a weakened team against the Canadians, with next weeks encounter with the All Blacks looming. However, coach Steve Hansen is keen for consitency and has picked another strong line-up which should prove too strong for the Canadians.

Canada have only enough funds to send a depleted 22 players over to Cardiff. They will miss the massive influence of back row forward Dan Baugh who is a big hard hitter, and their regular captain Al Charron who has had to withdraw due to the death of his father. To their credit however, they do have a wealth of international experience, and should have a good knowledge of the Welsh game, thanks to Welsh based players Rod Snow (Newport), and John Tait of Cardiff.

However, I expect Wales to have too much pace and strength for the Candians, and will send the Mounties back to Canada ensuring they concentrate on baseball and basketball in the future.

France vs New Zealand (SCR) Stade de France, Paris (19:45 GMT)

I do not have to state again that France are the best team in World Rugby at the moment. They take on the All-Blacks in Paris brimming with confidence, although the Blacks can take credit from their narrow defeat in Twickenham last week.

They looked dangerous at times against England last week, and it just highlights what strength in depth the Kiwis are lucky enough to possess. With Christian Cullen back in the line-up, they have that extra pace in their backline. However, France are not exactly short of pace with Castaignede, Clerc to name but a few.

I fully expect the Kiwis to have to travel to Cardiff next week, on the back of another defeat while the triumphant Les Bleus can continue with their current dominance of World Rugby.

1 Point Win France (Scr) vs All Blacks at 8/11 with BlueSQ

I have no play on the Scotland-South Africa game. The Springboks should win this game with comfort, as they are in a totally different class to the hapless Scots. However, you can never predict how they are going to play, and with wet conditions and a packed Murrayfield crowd, you can possibly expect the Scots to keep this close.

Again with the Italy-Argentina match up, I expect the Pumas of Argentina to triumph but have the handicap set of about 14-16 points about right.

Good Luck :) Back tomorrow with a preview of the Ireland-Fiji game.

ENGLAND 32-31 AUSTRALIA
WALES 32-31 CANADA
FRANCE 20-20 NEW ZEALAND

The first losing week of the season! :( All be it a very small loss.

Australia covered with ease, and should have won the game outright but for a spirited English fightback. However, Wales were played off the park by an awful Italian referee and had it not been for superb Canadian goal kicker Jared Barker, then we would have covered with a bit to spare, which would have landed our fourth consecutive Two Point Play of the season.

A French victory would still have meant us ending the day in profit. However, it was not to be as two missed penalties deep in injury time left this brilliant match at a deadlock. Two of our four losses this season have now been draws, whilst the others have lost by only a small margin. It could well have been a sweep.
