chiefs take a penalty after kicking field goal, field goal no good, 3rd down , and they kick anyway, for a 41 yarder. Why not run a play on third down to try to get closer?

Depending on field position, teams in overtime like to go for fieldgoals on 3rd downs in case there is a bad snap from center, gaining an extra chance. Cant remember the last tme it came into play though. And by the way, KC won LOL!
Ya but a 41 yarder is by no means a sure thing. Just cant figure why they wouldnt try to get closer, especially with that meathead kicking.
