i use a local, and just this year, he has started to allow run line bets. he uses scores and odds for his lines and i have a question. the answer is probably obvious, but since i'm a rookie at RL wagering, i have to ask it. how do the lines work typically? for example, today the yankees are -165 and the RL is -120. the sox are -220, and the RL is also -120. why is this? does it have to do with home or away?

like i said, i'm new at this and the answer has probably been posted before, but i can't seem to find anything. any help is appreciated.

thanks

In my opinion it's all based on how likely a one run game is. The Yankees are such a high scoring team that laying 1 run still requires you to lay some juice especially vs. BAL who is another team that plays high scoring games. You see that a lot in COL and TEX games as well because a lot of those parks don't see 1 run games. But you can also have big favorites only -120 on the RL because the chances of a low scoring 1 run game are pretty good. It takes some getting used to, but once you start following team tendencies you will be able to know what the run line will be before even seeing the line.
