A friend of mine e-mailed me and asked if I could recieve an attachment. I told him sure. Then he stated it would be a "running attachment". I'm not sure what this means. Any help would be appreciated.

The most sense I can make if this is that your friend is sending you a file attached to an E-Mail. This file is in binary format, and is most likelyly an executable file, i.e., a file with extension .exe
It might also be a self extracting archive file which also has an extension .exe but when executed, will extract itself into a directory containing the files which your friend wants you to have.

In either case, it would be to your benefit to subject the file in its entirety to a virus scanner before you run it!!!
