Strong play....
Rutgers -1 over Princeton
Rutgers on the road can't rebound, shoot FT's and cannot win.Gave everyone the stats last week.Auburn destroyed them on the bds.Team has 4 gds and 2 role players at the post.No inside game what so ever unless Lamizana stays inside. But Lama-Lama-ding-dong has a magnet that takes him outside the paint.
Rutgers has really a lot of talent.Coleman is one of the top players in the BE.Unselfish, can shoot and penetrate.Shields and Sherrod are fast and athletic.Lama is the Michael Jackson of b-ball.At 6'10 is explosive on the break. Can shoot a 3,drive,etc.A great shot blocker. But he likes putting those blocked shots into row 10.Wright and Axani are 6'9 bodies with no offense.
Although they have only lost to NC and Auburn, Rutgers will win 90% of its home games and lose the opposite on the road. They do play agressive defense but teams with big front lines will cause problems.Rutgers has forced 124 TO's and 74 have been steals.

Princeton comes in with one of its weakest team in the past yr's.With Yale and Penn in front of them the Tigers will have to claw and fight to stay close to those two.But with there style of offense they always get balanced scoring and will win.Today everyone talks about the "Princeton offense".Think of all the coaches that have left there and have put it in there programs.
But it is a frustrating offense to defend. But when the shot clock came in it did helped the other teams somewhat.
Tigers have a balnced scoring attack.Everyone is envolved, everyone avg's 2 or 3 assits a game.Gloger,Venable,Robbins and Logan all avg in double figures.
Monmouth the other nite had them beaten.I'm sure everyone watched the ESPN hi-lites of Persia's 75 ft bank shot to win the game.Monmouth used a match-up zone that stymied their offense. They also just squeaked by FIU on OT.
But like a usual Pr. team everyone has roles. They have good jump shooters, everyone hits the bds, they pass, pass, cut, etc
But tonite they will be tested by a quicker Rutgers team that is much more athletic and can play against this motion offense. They beat them lyr by 8-10 pts at RU.Gloger leads them in 4 off. catogories.
If you include Lama-Lama as a gd your really have 4 gds playing defense vs them. And because of that there should be less backdoors opens.Gds are quicker to respond to backdoor cuts and if beaten can recover faster.
This is why I think Rutgers can get a road win.Matchups favor RU.Tigers have turned the ball over a lot this yr.Tonite they see a pressure defense that is quicker.RU thrives on TO's.Walters has done an excellant job teaching defense.
RU wins this battle of Route 1 by 6-10 pts.
I will post this and finish the other few games..

Louisville -3 over Seton Hall
[I'm in the dog house right now with my wife.X-mas tree, lites outside, etc.Have long write ups but need to condense]
Halls 2 gds Barrett and Sweets are good.Allen and Whitney playing good. They all still can't play defense. They are 21-66 from beyong the arc. There offense setups are terrible. There front court has all "puppies".Talented but young. They are 9-30 vs ranked teams. On national TV they are 1-9.
Pitino plays that pressure defense.I don't think SH has the defense to stop Gaines and Whitehead. Both can score a lot of pts.Myles inside will be tough to handle.Dartz had a big game the other nite in a scrimmage. He's 6'10.And look for Dean to play a lot.He is a local jersey kid.Game is at the Meadowlands. No home court adv.Seats are way back.
Cards and Pitino wins this by 10 pts.

XU -2 over Miss St small play
Butler -1.5 over Miami O

Mizzou -8.5 over Memphis
Mizzou is loaded.Johnson inside is unreal.Paulding is getting ready for a few spectatcular dunks.Like this team a lot.Talented, with depth. They play defense.Bryant inside,McKinney super frosh,Clemons, etc. But AG is unstoppable.Barron will be in foul trouble in 2 minuts.
Memphis has Grice and Carney. All solid. But this is there 1st real rd game.
Both teams played Austin Peay. Memphis lost in OT by 1 and Mizzou blew them away by +30.
Mizzou wins big at home.

Best play-Rutgers
Med plays Mizzou and Louisville
Small plays Butler,XU,Florida +4

Tonite Cent Mich +4 over Marist. Strong play
Will capp it later if I'm still alive. It's a nite game.Have some real good info on it.Had tickets to the game. But if I ask my wife if I can go I'll be floating in the Hudson. GL today.Be back tonite...

Box- Good luck today. Have fun with the X-Mas stuff. Take a trip down to the Commons to really make it a day. Don't understand the Marist line at all. Still scratching my head.

Central Mich +4 over Marist
Marist has lost both games this week. With only 8 schloarship players suited up tonite. And Ellerbee is listed as probable. He is taped up and will try to play. But he played on it vs Fairfield and went 1-6 and 0-3 from the 3.He is there pt gd and 2nd leading scorer avg 13 pts a game.He is 5'11 and must really move around both on offense and defense.Magarity will play zone tonite to protect him.Handy the 6'8 juco player is playing center. He is not a post player. In fact the Red Foxes have no post defense at all.Eppehimer is a 6'8 swingman that can shoot from the outside.Bennett is the pt and is turnover prone.Young can score but both local kids Siegrist and Sosler are avg.
This team is really hurting and if Ellerbee doesn't play or is 50% they lose to Central Mich outright. They cannot rebound and cannot keep other teams from getting off. bds.
Cent-Mich comes here with a 4-1 record. They beat Michigan at there place handily and knocked off Drake,Illi St and G.Mason.They lost to Depaul.
With Manciel and Robinson they can score. But they have a MAC "aircraft carrier" in 7'Kaman who is a scoring threat, rebounding and block shooting problem for Marist. He is 18-21 in his last 2 games and was named MAC Pl of the week.He is a dominant player that will cause major problems tonite.Against Mich he had 30 pts and 20 rebounds. He will get off bds besides def. ones.
The problem with the Chippewas is they are 3-18 away from their reservation. They cannot win on the road. And as an underdog ATS they were 1-10 lyr.Yipes......I know many of you just went to another post.
Marist does play good defense. But this team is depleted. And who is going to gd Kaman. They will collaspe a zone I'm sure but the Chipp's do have some decent shooters. If they could handle Mich. on the road they will win in Poughkeepsie.
Red Foxes are in trouble tonite at home.Chippewas favorite "game" in the old days was racoons and red foxes. GL

I see we are on the same page on this game. Here is the pick from my post. Good Luck to us!

(Central Michigan +4) Central Michigan is coming off two solid wins over Drake and Michigan. Chris Kaman is a force inside averaging 19ppg and 11rpg, but more importantly he is 65% from the floor. C Michigan is turnover proned. If they can limit the turnovers,i look for them to win the game. Marist has lost two in a row to Georgia Tech and Fairfield. Nick Eppehimer is a solid backcourt player for Marist. He needs to have a great game to keep Marist close. I think Kaman is to much inside for Marist. Central Michigan should win their third straight.

Guys thanks for all the nice comments.I do appreciate them.
Hoops-I would love to drive down there to the 'commons"but can you get out of there.
Sosler and Siegrist scored 4 total pts in the Marist loss.I know "Sos" is your home boy.I think they are really both D-2 or 3 players. To much speed to deal with.

TJ-I always need luck
Jeff-I grew up with Marv.Everytime I see your post and picture I just shake my head.I just wish they made him take the hair piece off for the mug shot.
Scooter,R.Angle,Gardenweasel,Rantz and many more from the past few weeks.Thanks.
Bear-whats up with your Conn. gang.Fairfield is looking pretty good. Are any of the "towers" coming back. What is there status?Looks like Timmy might keep his job.I watched him the other nite.My local cable shows the Marist games on a 24 hr delay.I watched the Fairfield game.I was impressed.

Cent Mich blew Marist out of there own gym.I listened to some of the game on the radio.Foxes could not stop Kaman. They collasped on him but he still had 25 pts and 14 bds.Ellerbee did play 31 minuts but went 1-8 for 2 pts.His ankle is hurting bad.he is now 2-16 since he got hurt .Chippewas hit 8-13 from the 3.That what happens when you pack a zone.So Chippewas can win off the reservation.
Still have X-mas chores today.GL

Box- I don't want to find out if I can get back out of the Commons. Might be stuck there until next year. Sosler probably should be playing at OCCC or RCCC. Marist is in trouble if he is part of the rotation, along with Siegrist. How they beat LaSalle like they did I'll never know. LaSalle must have been playing with 3 guys. Central Michigan line was the worst I've seen all year. How they weren't the fave I'll never know.
