Game is in Bozeman,Montana in X-mas tourney.Saints had to travel 2,000 miles to get there.How cold is it there and how much snow is on the ground.Well Albany,NY has 16 inches and its colder there then in Montana.But of course the game is indoors so the outside weather means nothing.
Siena is 5-3 losing to 3 decent teams.Most recently XU beat them by 8 but Siena was down 86-83 with under 3 minuts.
Karawanga is a 6'6 gd-fd who leads his team in scoring,rebounding and assits.Haddix is the 6'6 freshmen surprise that is now second in scoring[13] and a vacuum cleaner on the bds.His play has really elevated this team.Mitchell has replaced disappointing Jackson at the pt and is avg in double fifures.Miller and Andrews are both 6'8 and 6'9 workhorses that play solid defense.The 6'10 Sniezyk is coming along slowly.
Lanier is a solid coach that works on defense.They have held their oppenents to 39FG% and 58 pts a game.Throw out the 96 pts vs XU and their avg looks great.
LMU was a doormat in their WCC league.But in 2 yrs Aggers has really re-built this team.They are 5-6 with some quality losses vs Nova and Wyoming.In the Nova game it was like the Siena-XU game.Only down 7 with 3 minuts to go.This game today will be their 4th vs a NCAA bound team lyr.
LMU has a good pt gd that directs this team.Brown is 5'10 and 2nd in scoring and avg 5 assits a game.Worthy is a 6'2 fr. gd that is their leading scorer with 11pts.Osborne is a 6'9 soph that can score.
It's hard comparing these teams because ones on the left coast and right coast.They play different styles and different teams.But Siena has a little more firepower and plays a better defense.If they can slow down Brown at the pt the Saints should go marching into the finals with Montana St.LMU defense has given up a lot of pts to the Cal-North Ridge's,Cal Polys,Cal-Irvine's,etc.
Did pretty good yest.But lost the Fordham game.Also lost the Mahattan game.Up 8 with 40 seconds left.Up 6 with 10 seconds left.Holmes fouls Burtt from Iona taking a fadeaway 3 pt shot with 10 seconds.Unreal foul.Burtt hits all 3.So now its a 3 pt game.Iona fouls on the inbounds still with 10 seconds left.Jaspers hit both for a 5 pt lead.Iona inbounds,pushes it up and shoots a wild 3 with 3 seconds left.Manhattan rebounds with 1 second.Ref blows the whistle for a Iona foul.But the scorekeeper lets the buzzer go off.Now there is 1 second still left.But Iona and Manhattan players are walking on the court.Ref's just wave off the last second.No FT shot. I need 1 pt for a push 2 for a win.I lose.
At least my revenge games won.UTEP and Columbia got smoked.
And of course my Giants won.
