Is anyone around here bored enough that they've watched some Atl backetball? It looks like the Mavs may trade Anthony Johnson for Salim. I know when he came out of Ariz he was a tremendous shooter. The one thing the Mavs needs is a shooter. He doesn't need to do anything else on offense but shoot. Devon Harris has been the out so far this year to shoot off of double teams and as much as I like Devon, his outside shot in the playoffs could hurt us. If Avery can get Salim's head on str8, it could be a big pick up without losing anything.

WOW...that would be an absolute steal for the Mavs. I am a big fan of Salim and he is one of my favorite players to watch. When he's got it going he can really light it up on the scoreboard and he has a long career ahead of him, contrary to Johnson's tired ass.

I would love to see the Nugs pick him up and I don't like the idea of the Mavs getting him at all :scared

That's what I said was wow. The biggest weakness I see in the Mavs right now is that when Devon is on the floor and they double, is jump shot is not reliable. I would be happy staying put but if we could get one shooter I would be very very happy and we all know that one the Salim can do is shoot. Hopefully he hasn't lost that.

DP you don't need him, you need a beast for at the PF spot. Come playoff time when you could have to go up against Dunacn, Amare, Dirk and heck even Brand you are going to need to be deeper in that spot.

i don't like devean and he is really an average player, but he does a couple things. devon brings energy, hustle and defense when healthy. More to his game than just his sleepy jumpshot. Good fit for Devean to remain on the mavs squad, IMO

SD, I'm not sure if you misread my post or what but they're not getting rid of Devon nor do I think they should. For a PG he is a very good defender and his ability to break down the d is also very good. All I'm saying is that when teams start doubling Dirk, the Mavs pass the ball around and he is the man that typically teams are willing to lay off. He is also the out man on other peoples drives which usually puts him on the baseline for the j and he's just not that good at it.

oh ok, cool. i got ya now.

well i hate saying devean sucks at shooting because well... he killed the spurs in the playoffs when he was healthy, but yes he is a real streaky-sucky shooter.
