If you have one, you aren't supposed to use it on a plane at all; not even in airplane mode. They have tons of announcements about it constantly before and after boarding. Not sure why.

Yep, supposedly the battery can catch fire. I was on 6 flights in September. All, including domestic, international and foreign, made this anouncement about galaxy note 7. I hadn't flown in months before that, so not sure when this started

Like Cie said, they announced it too many times to count, but nobody was checking passengers for it. I had no idea why until I read here it catches on fire :eek:
