For horse players this place is Paradise. I try to go for a long weekend every year. How many guys have been there and share my passion for this place?

Hey Smash,

Been there every summer for 35 years...every Travers.....This year I'll miss ( my son is getting married that weekend) but I'll be there.......Was at the Gideon Putnam for the weekend just before New Years............tooooo expensive to stay there during season!

Had a place on Lake Cossayuna....about 25 miles from Saratoga in Greenwich, when kids were growing up...............that was nice... Track/Fishing etc

Before that we used to stay in the motels and cabins in Malta..
Saratoga is heaven......for anyone who likes the ponies! Ya dont even have to like em......Lotta good stuff for kids ( Lake George, SPAC..concerts.....street parties etc. Good restaurants etc. Cant wait....

Nothing like Saratoga. I live 20 minutes away. Fell in love with the place as a kid. Have seats for the entire meet. It's heaven.

Saraoga is incredible. The atmosphere is outstanding.i live about an hour away and try to go weekly during the short season.
For those that don't know picnic tables are all around the grounds with tv's everywhere. Many betting windows so lines are short. I sound like an advertisement for them.If you've never been there it's a treat

clifton park, ny
hands down the greatest horse racing venue in existence
(no offense to california players) I too live nearby, in fact live in saratoga county and go to the track at least each weekend and sometimes during the week when I can escape work. I'm not sure there is a better way to spend a beautiful august afternoon than at the SPA.
snake where abouts you from must be near by?
I think it is great that people farther and farther away are coming to saratoga more often, it really makes me appreciate being so close by.
2 little tips=
#1 never bet against Bailey on the turf in big races and
#2 Saratoga is known as home of the "graveyard of favorites"
keep this in mind when your thinking about sending it in on the chalk
Good luck and maybe we can set up a Saturday at the track sometime this summer

Never been to Saratoga, but I believe the midwest has a comparable in Keeneland and the west coast has Del Mar. Been to Keeneland numerous times as well as several times in the clubhouse (difficult to find tickets). Coat and tie, southern belles in hats, very cool place during the 3 week spring and fall meets.

hey, eddie, i love that signature!!

i agree keeneland is a nice place. keeneland makes so much money from its horse sales that im beginning to wonder if would rather eliminate racing altogether; the live racing calendar seems to keep shrinking.

i would love to visit the spa and hopefully can do so soon. can anyone tell me where it is located, like is it closer to NYC than Rochester?
