with all the "Sartre" action happening on Dudley Stew's post...

My final, take-home exam, in introductory existentialism -- Phil 2120 at York University -- is on J.P.

Any books that you(s) can recommend on him are appreciated. This paper is due in two weeks.

Whoops...May 18th isn't quite 2 weeks, is it?
Better get cracking. At least he's easier to digest than that Heidegger nutcase; what's up with this guy?

I think I need some of whatever this guy was smoking to get his (non)point. Regardless, J.P. seems a little more "valuable," despite lacking in values.

Sartre, Jean Paul 1905-1980

French writer and philosopher. A leading existentialist, he wrote literary works, such as the autobiographical novel Nausea (1938) and the play No Exit (1944), and philosophical volumes that include Being and Nothingness (1943). Sartre declined the 1964 Nobel Prize for literature.

Sounds like a fun guy to have at parties. Too bad he be couldn't be at Madjack's next Superbowl soiree.

Seeing as how it is my alma mater, and I majored in philosophy...let me know what you need about existentialism..what is the question you must respond to?.....BTW existentialists DO have values....Cheers
