Outright plays (2pts):

Tom Kite to win 12/1 e.w. @ Stan James and BetInternet
Certainly the form player on the Tour until the last event. He had had five top-4 finishes in a row, including a win at the 3M Championship. he short game rather let him down at the Kroger Senior Classic, but any return to his previous form should return at least a place win. Plus he does have a good record on this course: he finished 2nd last year after finishing with a final round 61!

Doug Tewell to win 18/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
The last two selections are retained from the Kroger Classic and after they had both held the lead and were 1st and 3rd with one round to play, there is little reason to drop them now. Tewell lost the overnight lead, but at least he finished 2nd, having finished 1st, 9th and 4th in his previous three events. So with top-4 finishes in two of three visits to Prestonwood, this should be another good week for Tewell.

Gary McCord to finish in the top-four 12.5/1 @ Centrebet
McCord was never going to be available at 100/1 after his efforts in the Kroger Classic, but conversely after his efforts in that event, it would appear prudent to back him at place-only odds. He hasn't won for five years and with a repeat of his final round stone-cold putter, he will not win again. However, in good form and having finished 2nd on this course in 2001, he could certainly push for a place win instead.

Matchup plays (2pts):

Allen Doyle to beat Bob Gilder -115 @ Centrebet
With just one top-10 finish since June (Doyle has four), Gilder is not quite the competitive player that he was and is opposed primarily because of a relatively poor course history. Doyle has finished ahead of him in each of the last three years and by comfortable margins.

Morris Hatalsky to beat Bob Gilder -120 @ Five Dimes
Course form not so important in this match as they have finished alongside each other on the leaderboard in each of the last two years, rather it is that Hatalsky is playing the far better golf. Gilder has finished ahead of him only once since June and in that period (8 events), Hatalsky has yet to finish outside the top-20.

Outrights - FINAL RESULT: 1-2; -0.50pts

Kite 14th
Tewell 3rd
McCord 14th

Ended the first day with all three selections in the top-10 and ended the tournament just glad to get one placed as they were never going to catch Craig Stadler.

Matchups - FINAL RESULT: 1-2; +4.25pts

Doyle/Gilder WON by 9
Hatalsky/Gilder WON by 2

Didn't fancy too many matchups this week, but still pleasing to get the sweep on a reduced card.
